Hero is expert high stakes limit player. Villain is 17/14/1.6 (47 hands).

Pre flop Villain open raises from HJ, and hero in CO 3 bets with Kh Jd, only villain calls.

I don't really want to discuss pre flop, because I think most people should be folding KJo/s in this situation, but for an expert they can probably get away with a three bet.

Flop
Jh 6d 2h
Villain checks and calls.

Turn
Jh 6d 2h Ts
Villain checks, hero bets, villain raises! What does hero do?

Seems like since we have position on a very draw heavy board, calling down is a pretty good option.

I think calling sometimes and raising sometimes are both fine really, the only thing that would be awful is folding.

Well I just saw villain's stats and realize he is quite tight, I like calling down more than raising now.

Hero three bet the turn check raise. I have got to admit I would never have thought of three betting villains turn check raise. Here is heros explanation, he did admit that is was close between a call and a three bet however.

The fact that villain did not cap pre flop, suggested to hero that villain was very unlikely to have a set of Tens or Jacks. He did think that villain could have AJ, but he also thought villain could have QJ and maybe KQ.

It turned out that villain had QJ and hero took down a big pot, when villain called a bet on the river when a blank hit.

Hero normally plays a lot higher than this, often on Stars $100/200 and $200/400 games. My thinking is that the way hero played this hand is likey to be more profitable at those bigger games and less profitable at $10/20, but since I have never played at any of these limits, and am extremely unlikely to ever go near the high stakes I could be wrong.
