About Poker Coaching

DeucesCracked coaches have already trained hundreds of successful students in No-Limit Hold'em (NLHE), Limit Hold'em (LHE), and Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO), and we're glad to welcome you to the growing ranks.

We're here to serve as a support center for your coaching – if you need anything, let us know.

Q. What is poker coaching?
A. Personalized program – that's the name of our game. Your first session will generally consist of your coach watching you play, taking notes and creating an analysis of your game. Can we spot any glaring leaks? Strengths? Where do you need to improve? Where do you want to improve? What are your goals (short-term and long-term)? Over time, our coaches will employ a combination of in-hand analysis (sweat sessions where you receive active feedback on the decision-making process as you play) and out-of-hand analysis (theory and specific strategy lectures, PokerTracker discussion, video analysis) to help you improve your winrates.

Each session typically runs 1-2 hours and is held over Skype (skype.com – free voice communication software). We also use screen-sharing programs to facilitate communication during sweat sessions. During non-session hours, our coaches are available daily over IM and email to go over hands or answer any other questions (we do NOT charge for this unless correspondence reaches a level where we need to).

It's like having both a physical trainer for poker - we get you out of bed, on your computer, and playing at your most efficient level all the time. Tilt control included :-) We're very flexible - if you have any concerns/stipulations about a program, be sure to let us know so we can work that into our lessons.

Remember, you'll get the most out of coaching if you are diligent about it. Be on time, and come prepared, and you'll get way more bang for your buck. It's a serious commitment – coaching is most effective if you forge a long-term relationship with over 10 hours worth of sessions. With that said, evaluate your coach thoroughly and ask us as many questions as you need to!

Best of luck, and have fun!
