After being taught poker as a way for my stepfather to win back my allowance money (this stopped when I started beating him) and playing small tournaments with friends, I decided to deposit $50 online and see where to took me. After reading literature, posting and participating in forums, watching videos, and working with better players one-on-one I’m playing mostly 100NL with some 200NL and some 50NL mixed in as well. I find coaching other players extremely rewarding, and also find that it helps me keep my own game sharp. Here's a graph of my recent results.

When I’m not playing at the tables or coaching, I tutor high school math, play bass, and test my mettle in endurance sports. I’ve run two marathons (including a marathon-and-a-half double race) and am currently training for my first ½ ironman next Fall.

"New member but lurked 2+2 forever. After a ton of bad play I bought 4 sessions with rapid. He was able to quickly spot some major leaks in my game. He knows how to play the game well but has the ability to easily explain his thoughts. My red line has improved greatly since our coaching. He's always there to review some hands through AIM or email and is very generous with his time. If your struggling or just looking to improve a little bit rapid is the guy. I was down about my red line after it nose dived last month, so booked a session to talk specifically on this and was very glad that I did. I've been struggling to pull it back up for weeks now, and I needed this to get me back on track and put the fun back into poker for me.

I was a struggling, breakeven 10nl player, got coaching from him and now I'm beating 25nl for like 5ptbb/100 and am ready to take shots at 50nl in the near future.

He can quickly and easily explain his reasoning in hands he plays, even while 12 tabling during a sweat.

He really understands people's tendencies and knows how to adjust to exploit them. I dunno what else to say besides he really knows his stuff.
