I started playing poker as a senior in high school in a $5 home game with some friends. From the beginning, I was a lot more interested in learning about the game than actually playing it--reading tons of poker books, watching poker on TV, and writing computer programs to analyze various plays.
In college, I discovered internet poker and spent huge amounts of time reading and posting on the 2+2 forums (instead of studying). Somewhere along the way, playing changed from a hobby to a profession, and I spent a few years playing mid/high-stakes online, coaching, and, eventually, making training videos. I'm quite proud of my history as a coach and as a video producer for DC, and I'm particularly proud of how well my former student and current DC coach and video producer chipchucker5 has done.
Recently, I've essentially stopped playing poker and charging for my poker advice. I am, however, still quite active in the online poker community, mostly trying to help clean it up. I share a lot of my thoughts and findings on poker, poker security, and whatever else on 2+2 and my blog.
