I started playing poker as a senior in high school in a $5 home game with some friends. From the beginning, I was a lot more interested in learning about the game than actually playing it--reading tons of poker books, and writing computer programs to analyze various plays.
In college, I made a $50 deposit online and spent huge amounts of time reading and posting on the 2+2 forums (instead of studying). In May of 2006, some of the people I met there convinced me to do a May TLB contest with tubasteve and other MTT regulars, so I finally started putting in volume, playing mostly $4/180s. Steve and I lost the contest, but by the end of the summer, I'd built up a decent bankroll and decided to move to 6-max cash.

I made the easy decision of poker over grad school, and I'm currently living in New York, playing poker occasionally, thinking and talking about it constantly.
"Noah was a pivotal point in my poker career. Besides his great hand range ideas, his coaching goes beyond specific spots. He really shows you how to take an objective view on every hand and use impeccable logic to analyze any spot you find yourself in. Needless to say, he comes highly recommended." - Robert Jordan
"Noah had a profound effect on my game, he started coaching me in December of 07 (or sometime thereabouts) when I was beating 1/2 hu pretty well (6ptbb) and a marginal winner at 1/2 6m trying to get to 2/4. My play improved really quickly and I'd moved up to 2/4 full time after 5 or 6 hours w/ him.
Noah taught me how to approach poker in a more productive manner that allowed me to play my style effectively (I'm too nitty to play like he does) and focus on really exploiting weaker players. The majority of my thought process today comes from stuff we went over during sessions. He makes himself available outside of lessons and analyzes hands as well as anyone I've known. 200 for the first 90 minutes is an excellent deal for anyone who can't quite break through to MSNL." - Wu36
"Noah helped me get good at poker before most people had even HEARD of poker coaching (myself included). i have been talking to him on and off since we were both playing micro-stakes MTTs and i guarantee his is worth every penny of his hourly rate." - tubasteve
