Jay Rosenkrantz

Souljalion

I am known by many monikers in the online poker world, most notably KRANTZ on 2p2 (where I am moderator of the HSNL strategy forum), purplEUROS on PokerStars, and pr1nnyraid on FTP (pre-4/15/11). My friends call me Jay or Krantz. I'm in my late twenties and my favorite avatar on Full Tilt was the sinister clown.

Before DeucesCracked, I started a private poker coaching website called 3-bet.net, a forerunner to today's online poker training sites. With the help of my other co-founders here, we took our vision of an interactive poker training community and brought it to life in late 2007. My role here has been as both founder and creative director, overseeing the production, growth and direction of our content library over our first three years of business.

I've been a poker player for a long time. Rounders was an inspiration and I quickly graduated from cafeteria card games in junior high to sneaking into Atlantic City casinos to grind 5/10 limit holdem in my late teens. I'd work any job I could to support my obsession with the game -- I was at times a waiter, mousepad cutter, tent cleaner, freelance writer, legal assistant and gas pumper.

While I was studying film/television at Boston University I discovered online poker and twoplustwo.com, which is where I honed my skills discussing strategies with many of today's greatest online players. My most highly regarded successes came in 2006-2009, where I won, lost, won and lost millions of dollars against some of the toughest players alive in the highest stakes shorthanded no limit games on the planet. I've created a large volume of training videos on DC, but by far my most popular have been the pr1nnyraiding series (with WiltOnTilt), considered to be must-watch videos for the aspiring heads up no limit holdem player.

In addition to poker and DeucesCracked, I am a writer and producer. Most of my projects so far have been related to poker, including the documentary series From Busto to Robusto and the G4 reality television show 2 Months 2 Million. I am currently executive producing BOOM, a documentary feature about the rise and fall of the online poker industry during the poker boom of the 2000s. I am also the co-creator and screenwriter of The Micros, an animated web series about the struggles of 3 microstakes grinders.

You can follow me on Twitter and Facebook.

These days I play poker part-time when Im not busy telling people to watch The Wire, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and Mad Men. Do it.
