Hobbs

My name is Andrew Hoffmann and I’m 25 years old; I go by Hobbs both here and on 2p2. Back in the fall of 2004 I got my start playing limit hold’em during my first year as a PhD student at Harvard. Like many of you I got my first taste of LHE strategy from reading “the red book” by Sklansky, Malmuth, and Miller. It wasn’t until I started playing in a campus game with W. Deragned, of former small stakes mod fame, that I was introduced to the 2p2 forums. Starting in the spring of 2005 to current, I’ve been a substantial contributor to most of the LHE forums on 2p2.

Over the past couple of years I’ve put in a large amount of hands in pretty much all forms of LHE from online to live play, and HU, 6-max, and full ring play. My target student will be a struggling, 1/2 to 5/10, 6-max or full ring TAG who feels their game has stagnated and needs guidance in patching up their leaks to help them move to the next level. The first coaching session with me will likely involve a general game assessment of the student to find what appear to be their major leaks. We will do this through a variety of methods: hand history review, live sweat session, or a video review (based on convenience for the student). Once leaks have been identified my coaching approach will shift to developing strategies for the student to spot problem areas while they’re happening, and apply a methodology that we will develop to solve these problems.
