My name is Christopher Leather and I coach poker. I've been obsessed with games my entire life and made a living solely through the card game Magic: The Gathering previously. I've been coaching since early 2007 and I've got over 175 students and 1200 coaching hours under my belt (which is a potentially conservative estimate, I believe it could be more). Nearly all of my students have improved their game and a high percentage have moved up, some going from small stakes to becoming a regular at midstakes or taking shots at high stakes. I've coached and written poker articles for other sites in the past, have a roster of 10-15 students at any given time, and I've been coached by high stakes players like Insyder19 and DC's own Jason Rosenkrantz.

I've always been a very logical and analytical person, maybe to a fault. This has helped me analyze my own game and understand my own thought process from an objective point of view. It's from this skill that I'm able to challenge the way my students think about poker and help them improve their own thought process.

A typical coaching session with me involves reviewing a video of my student's play and talking about everything that's going on in great detail, identifying places to improve and how to approach making those improvements, branching out into theory and concept discussion when applicable or necessary, but most importantly focusing on the best way to help each student better their current game. My coaching is dynamic and I adjust to your learning needs.

I'm currently playing midstakes (2/4 to 5/10) shorthanded NL with the majority of my play being at 2/4. I'm a fairly low volume player and some months I won't crack 5k hands played but that doesn't lessen my coaching experience or knowledge of the game, or my ability to teach. I play enough that I'm not out of the loop on current trends. I generally coach 100NL and 200NL players and feel like I have a very good understanding of what's going on at those stakes.
