I began playing poker like so many others: in dorm rooms around college campuses. I was fascinated by poker because, for such a simple game, it has so many mathematical and psychological nuances. Because I am a naturally competitive person, I bought a few poker books and began my career as a serious hold’em player. I have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Management, but play poker professionally.
I feel that I’m a great resource for players who are adjusting between shorthanded games and full ring style limit hold’em, as well as specialists in each. I typically coach students from 1/2 to 5/10 (though do coach outside these ranges). My students typically start with a video session review in which we both get to know each other and I get an idea of the player’s limit hold’em foundation. From there, we devise a plan that incorporates my own style of coaching while always keeping the student’s short and long term goals at the forefront.
I currently play between 25K and 40K hands per month at stakes between 5/10 and 50/100. I play both full ring and 6 max LHE. Currently, I am enjoying learning PLO and have been focusing most of my time there, although I still play a little LHE every month to keep my game sharp.
Here are my results for all my hands last year between 5/10 and 50/100.
