Well things have been going great for me! I had a bit of trouble a week or two ago when my steady upward trend faltered – I feared a big downswing and was generally not playing strongly. I took a lot of time off, playing for about an hour a day and doing lots of work studying and working on my game the rest of the days. Looks like it has really paid off! Here is my current lifetime 50nl graph Anyway, the main things I have been ... (continued)
I made a big mistake today which basically cost me my stack. I’m hoping that by chronicling my errors “on paperâ€, as it were, I will learn some lessons. Anyway, I’ve watched some videos lately where the stealer was calling the blinds’ three bets quite lightly compared to my usual standards. I’m nitty by nature (damn, that woulda’ been a good user name) so I have often folded to this aggression. Anyway, I sat down a ... (continued)
So I’ve been dicking around with the notion of it and threatening to do it for a few weeks now but today I’m starting my “video a day†quest. Will I cheat and watch some videos that I’ve been watching over the past few weeks? Yes lol. But this is more of a change in diet than a weight loss prop bet. What do I mean by that? In a weight loss prop bet you’re doing anything you can to just shoot to a goal. You’re going as fast ... (continued)
The NL hand. I think the flop is ok. I didn’t want to c/r because I’m a bit iffy on whether or not he’d be 3-betting as a bluff or 3-betting for value. I think he’s folding air, though he may barrel it 2x (so I can c/c, c/c), I’m not getting him off a jack until the river. I basically intended to play a small pot. On the turn i felt he either has a jack going for thin value (rare, I think it has to be AJ or KJ only). I thin ... (continued)

I was looking to try and get 300VPPs worth of play in today (about 3 hours) but I’m afraid I’m done for the day today as any further play I would do would be on tilt. Just had one of those days where I’ve flopped massive draw after massive draw and missed and my opponents have hit miracle after miracle after miracle to manage to screw me out of pots. (like literally I’m something like 2 for 12 on 14+ out d ... (continued)
Lately I have switched from 6max Cash to HU Cash, back to 6Max and now I’m switching again. I’ve always used HU SnG’s in the past as my “fun†game. If I wanted to play poker but felt I wasn’t in the state of mind to play my main game good enought I played HU SnG’s but played them badly. Now I’m acually going to give these a shot because these games can be really profitable at the Mid level stakes. I’ve ... (continued)
I think it might be fun for me to write about my poker adventures, even if nobody else reads ’em. I spent a few years playing poker the LAST time I got laid off, making basically enough to support myself. In hindsight it was a bit of a mistake for me to rely on poker for so long as I was much less marketable when I wanted to get back into the work force. Anyway, I got laid off again (programmer job) and have been playing poker ... (continued)
