first hand seems fine IMO, if it's an old nit it becomes one hell of a lot tougher with QQ there..

second hand seems fine as well, especially as you have the nutflush I like squeezing in that spot.

and about honesty.. it's the casino but it's also the guy who'd get some trouble with paying you too much cash.. I'm always an honest person in that spot and prefer telling him about his mistake. especially if you show up more often in the casino and just in general if everybody was more honest it'd be a much better world. At poker though if everybody would be honest it'd be a damn boring game:).

Hey,

Choose villain as hero and go to filter "Use vs player" and pick yourself. Then filter by positions.

I just remember him talking about adjusting our ranges completely, for example, against players that call 3bets too often. It doesn't make sense for us to add in a few more value hands along with our bluffs, instead we should be 3betting completely depolarized. OTOH, against villains that fold too much we can just have a ton of bluffs in our range. I think sometimes I get paranoid that people are going to realize what I'm doing, but I'm starting to find that people will just keep doing their thing for the most part. It's also good to get people out of their comfort zone because it can cause them to make mistakes. I am finding that sometimes this puts me outside of my comfort zone, too, but as I said, I think this is a good thing because it allows me to improve. Hopefully this makes sense...

Snappie, yeah I think every level you go up it gets a little bit tougher in terms of money won/lost. It does however feel a lot better when you have a really good session. I think 100NL and 200NL seemed like fairly significant jumps for me. It still hits me every once in awhile that I have over 1k in play when I start to get deep playing 4 tables of 200NL. It's kind of crazy to think about sometimes, especially considering I don't like to do things like eat out a lot because it's "expensive" lol.

Noobalube, I am American so yeah this is an issue. However, the last few times I've withdrawn money, I got the check within a couple weeks. I'm basically trying to find a decent balance of keeping my bankroll lean, while still attempting to move up. It definitely makes it more difficult though. I'm someone who usually likes to have a bigger bankroll but this just isn't the greatest plan right now. I can't afford to lose 50 BI or whatever.

Being someone who's grinding on Merge, I'm curious how comfortable you feel keeping a large enough roll on there to play these stakes? Also, how big of a pain is it to get your money off of there? Maybe you're non-US so it's not that big of a deal?

I can image. Even at 50nl and 100nl I always felt like it was a lot of money. It is.

If I talk to my GF and say I lost 150 in an hour, it kind of hits reality that it is a lot of money. To lose 3 bi's in 1 hour is nothing. But, if you play 100nl, its 300$.

I think it really becomes a matter of being comfortable with what you lose and win. If you have a swingy session at 600nl you just lost 2400$. In the 'normal world', this is a lot.

Do you think it might just take a bit longer then before but you still stand a good change to get comfortable with winning and losing the amounts you do at 400nl?

Thanks, Snappie. I agree, moving up would be nice. I'm just slightly hesitant because I feel like I'm just finally getting used to losing stacks at 200NL.....I think the medium-term goal is to get to a point where I can just comfortably game select anywhere from 200-600NL. I know I have some work to do on my game, but I think it can be done. I've noticed that some of the 200NL regs I play against also play 400-600NL, and I don't really fear their game or anything like that. I mean they are solid for the most part, but I don't see them as much better than me, if at all.

Yup though granted my stake and living situation is way different at the moment. Ran decent at 10 and 20 nl and made my quota for month and spent like 250-300 hundred in 2 nights out down here which is way way way alot for Ecuador in a weekend. Lots of hands at those stakes to make this back. Could have easily had fun spending like 50 but ended up getting a bottle and a girl at the strip club (bottles cost more down here btw) so def hear u.

Yep, I definitely need to work on value betting sets OTR against stations before I'm ready to move to 200NL. I guess we're all here to learn.

You definitely made a mistake in this hand so I'm not sure you're ready for 200NL. Without a doubt, I would have chosen to boat up on the river.

I'm actually fairly conservative with managing my bankroll, but I've been a little more aggressive lately. I was fortunate enough to go on the biggest heater I've ever been on over the past two and a half months or so. That has definitely helped. I feel comfortable with about a 50 BI roll, but I think maybe 25-30 is when I will take some shots if I feel confident. I guess it just depends on your own risk tolerance and being disciplined to move back down.

have noticed your stakes climb? Seems like just a few months ago you were posting 25nl hands correct? If you don't mind me asking, how big is your br cushion, and do you feel that through your climb having 20 bi's was sufficient?? Thanks man.
