Good run
Originaly posted: Saturday, April 11, 2009
I’ve had a good run up to now at 5NL. Most people say that it shouldn’t be that much different then 10NL but I don’t believe that to be true. I can always find tables at 5NL with more then one player with >30 VPIP and <5PFR which makes it so easy to play against them. Also, I haven’t seen many people shove with bottom pair at 10NL and I find there is A LOT more bluffing at 5NL then at 10NL. Here’s an example:
Poker Stars $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold’em – 6 players – View hand 92619
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter
BB: $10.12
Hero (UTG): $16.72
MP: $15.94
CO: $10.00
BTN: $9.15 78/11 over only 18 hands but still
SB: $5.95
Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is UTG with J
A
Hero raises to $0.20, 2 folds, BTN calls $0.20, 2 folds
Flop: ($0.47) Q
8
J
(2 players)
Hero bets $0.30, BTN calls $0.30
Turn: ($1.07) Q
(2 players)
Hero bets $0.70, BTN raises to $3.80, Hero calls $3.10
River: ($8.67) 4
(2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $4.85 all in, Hero calls $4.85
Final Pot: $18.37
Hero shows J
A
(two pair, Queens and Jacks)
BTN shows 7
8
(two pair, Queens and Eights)
Hero wins $17.52
(Rake: $0.85)
I’m running at just over 31bb/100 for almost 5000 hands now. Hopefully that’ll keep up.

How did you know you were good on that turn? Did you have a note on him?
I'd have folded there without reads.
