Fail @ 50NL & 14k World Cup package

OK, so I had a pretty crazy week. I experimented at 50NL, turned out terrible. Next time I try to transition I'm gonna be watching a LOT of 50NL videos to get me ready for the play there as what I did, didn't work & lost a few racks in a matter of an hour or so (played bad). So I stepped back down after that & am grinding 25NL once again for a while, still crushing HU with 23BB/100 & slowed down my 6max play & ran more HU, so I think I am about where I posted last time.

I played the 50k freeroll frenzy on UB this month & played the final this Saturday & took it down for the 14k World Cup package, my biggest win to date by far. Waiting on a UB rep to contact me with more details, but am looking to sell it either way. I don't really have the time & would love money instead of it (reduced price of course). Anyways, just stoked about my weekend, played a 3$ buy-in 300$ added (another sites game) & took 2nd for 84$, so that was sexy too. Anyways, off to play some games.

An unexpected blog

Well, I wasn't planning on blogging until this weekend (as this is when I do most of my blogging & posting), but the past few days have been such a rush, I need to talk before I explode.

I spent 2 days getting back into the mix of NLHE HU @ 25NL. I know I am a decent/good HU player, as I am good at hand reading, so I adventured into this week as it's prolly one of the easiest games in perspective, you aren't play 5/8, your playing 1 & for me, making reads, plays, analyzations are a whole lot easier when your only making them for one person & getting very detailed at that.

So I hit a little funk the first day after playing for prolly 5 hours, I ended up about break-even for the night (thank god, I was running bad too & going braindead). The next day I logged on & told myself that I'm not playing as many tables (I was 4-tabling the first night) & work on actually getting back into playing HU. So I opened 1 table of HU & 1 table of 6-max (1-tabling I would literally fall asleep). So after a few hours, I was getting back into it & actually analyzing my opponents game & pick apart his leaks & exploiting them. By the end of the session, I was literally laughing (which is rare when I play poker) because I am getting back into both my 6-max game (which is at 10bb/100 over 3.8k hands, only been back on cash tables for a few weeks) & my HU game. The last few days I have crushed HU & gotten farther into my mindstate then I ever thought I would be at this point. Still working on getting a few more players for my little study group where we review hands, review plays, talk poker, etc. & have been doing what I can to keep my brain fresh with poker as well.

Anyways, here's the graph:

20BB/100 @ HU (25NL) (2,651 hands)

10BB/100 @ 6max (25NL) (3,837 hands)

(Rest of my hands are from 10NL where I was just getting back into my old mindframe & getting back into my game from my break & adapting it for 25NL)

Ready to keep pushing this Mount Moneymaking up & hope to keep my brain fresh & add more tables & add more profits. Anyhow, off to bed now, gotta work in a bit & I'm mentally exhausted. Still wondering if redline really matters at 25NL, let me know.

Experimenting, it works!

This past week or so I have been trying to apply some of the things I have learned by watching other players. I experimented with everything I have learned & have finally got what seems to be a winning mindstate & have logged around 9k hands (in 8 days, few days a lot more time then others). It's been really great getting back on the tables & learning from the friends I have watched & trying to apply it all. It has really been a challenge for me, but have been having fun, making money, & playing good poker. So, not much to complain about at all. Heading for Cali in 11 days, won't have much time for poker then, but hope to still be playing a little every day (or two).

Here's my graph:

Basically the beginning ups & downs were me experimenting & getting back into my game. Since last weekend I have been on a steady upwards slope & hope to keep it that way.

Anyways, off to work now. I am excited to get some hands in later tonight!

Finally..

I have finally got a bonus going whilst I grind cash games (which is always helpful) as well as rakeback (don't ask me how I have both, but I do). Whilst I get back into my old mindstate of grinding for hours at a time (which let me tell you, not playing for a while makes those hurt), my BR steadily increases as well as my willingness to learn. I watched one of my good friends who has basically studied poker from beginning to end & read everything to be read (not really, just saying..) grind at 10NL and crush for 2 hours or so. Learned a lot & getting back into the rotation of going from playing to learning almost every day. Play, watch, learn, play, watch, learn. It's getting to be brutal for my big head, but I think I may get through it & profit majorly from the cycle. Always looking for more people that are interested in discussing sessions, talking poker, etc. Send me a PM if you would like to do so. Anyways, off to watch TV for 30 minutes to relax from the 3 hour session, then back at it.

First win under the belt

After watching countless videos & countless sessions of looking over my own hand histories & friends helping me look over my hand histories, I finally got a win. I had some freeroll winnings on a site I never really played on & tried to work on my game with those winnings. Played an 11$ 1k guarantee & cashed 1st for 300$ (good boost to the roll). Even with the first win under the belt, I can’t get ahead of myself, I still got a lot of work to do. Just happy to have it under my belt after the long drought after my break.

Wins? MIA

Have played a few MTT’s after work for about a week, got a few cashes. Still getting back into my old game. Got back with a few friends, going over my HH’s & fixing my leaks ASAP. I have been watching videos in the spare time from that & work & just establishing my thought process and old game back. I have got out a few leaks & can’t wait to hit the tables this weekend after a few sessions looking over HH’s with friends.

Back on the grind

After taking off for a few months to get things together, I have been back for the past week or so. I have been getting back into my old frame of mind & getting into some new train of thoughts that I have talked about with a few friends. I am back to the super-micros & playing small buy-ins. Working on getting some money back on PokerStars to play 180 mans again as that’s where I crushed games. Working on playing without PokerTracker as it gives me a false sense of hope & frame of mind that makes me tend to lean one way just based on their norm. One thing I have learned that a players norm is how they tend to play their monsters as well & have been getting away from stats & just taking notes & watching with my own eyes, if I do use it, I will only have 1-5 things on my PT3 HUD. Anyways, got a tournament starting now, I will write a little blog soon after I get a few more wins under my belt & start playing cash games again.
