One sess of PLO HEADS UP

Yo.

There i am again, and i just played a very interesting session of hu plo vers a player, who is thinking on a pretty high level (while not being accustomed to PLO that much (like me...)), so lets talk about some hands:

LOSERRRRRS:

Full Tilt Poker $50.00 Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 2 players - View hand 1259930

BTN/SB: $54.05
Hero (BB): $78.90

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with 7 of hearts 8 of hearts Q of hearts A of spades
BTN/SB raises to $1.50, Hero raises to $4.50, BTN/SB calls $3

River: ($21.00) A of diamonds(2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets $16.00, Hero raises to $68.40, BTN/SB calls $27.55 all in

Final Pot: $108.10
BTN/SB shows 3 of hearts K of hearts A of hearts J of diamonds
Hero shows 7 of hearts 8 of hearts Q of hearts A of spades
BTN/SB wins $107.60
(Rake: $-24.35)

So preflop seems thin to me, but how bad can this really be (he was playing passivish), the flop i wanna catch him bluffing (i had been taking passive lines with unorthodox hands before, so he cant simply barrel off here every time), turn looks good, now river.
Obv i could bet out here, rep aces, blablabla. But i at the time i thought he wouldnt give me credit for bluffing here, so i just SNAP-ch/jam'ed the river, he tanked and called with this, i am happy with my play (notice the blockers i have, i do think he could have AA in this spot, so the A-blocker seems nice, and the Q-blocker as well).
Only question is wether he would vbet a straight here, but i thought theres a chance he does (Which seems unrealistic).

BB: $50.00
Hero (BTN/SB): $60.00

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BTN/SB with 8 of diamonds 8 of hearts 9 of clubs 6 of hearts
Hero raises to $1.50, BB raises to $4.50, Hero calls $3

Flop: ($9.00) 7 of hearts J of spades 3 of diamonds(2 players)
BB bets $6.50, Hero calls $6.50

Turn: ($22.00) 2 of hearts(2 players)
BB bets $16.00, Hero calls $16

River: ($54.00) K of spades(2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $33.00, BB calls $23 all in

Final Pot: $100.00
BB shows T of hearts 4 of clubs J of diamonds A of clubs
Hero shows 8 of diamonds 8 of hearts 9 of clubs 6 of hearts
BB wins $99.50
(Rake: $0.50)

So preflop looks decent to me, he wasnt 3betting like crazy, but my calling-range wasnt that wide either, so i hit this flop, and i thought the chance of him bet/folding on this boards isnt very huge, so a call seems best. Turn the chance of him bluffing is even lower, so i take my odds and call again.
Now river: When he checked i wasnt entirely sure wether to bluff, but my range doesnt look that weak here, as he should expect me to just jam any pair+draw on the flop, so i thought there is a reasonable chance i have a hand like JJxx, 7789, KJ9T. Now thinking about it i would maybe just jam KJ9T on the flop, but maybe not, so i dont mind my riverjam here. And i like his call as well.

This hand illustrates my style of play, and also (maybe) his level of thinking and my image. So i 3bet this sickly strong hand, he calls, i flop AA+nfd. So vers a std player i would always either bet or ch/raise here, figuring he isnt going to bluff at an incoming flush and also tilt me with his timing/betsizing(!!!!), but vers this guy i think ch-calling is pretty decent, for one as he couldnt be sure i would have a dry overpair here, secondly he might bluff the wrong cards, baby.
On the river he maybe just figured he couldnt get any more value, but maybe he also remembered a hand previous to this where i took this line with a hand that had hit this board pretty well. So happy there.

This hand i really think he has to donkjam the river. I really tanked a bit there, but both of us could easily have 79 or J9, so the only hand that could call me is QT, and i dont think he necessarily calls with that. Am i bluffing this river? For sure, but as the flop was rainbow i dont think i have that many bluffs in my range, and i wouldnt usually raise a hand like TJAK vers a donkbet on that board (As he wasnt donking too frequently).

If he just jams river though, he can have a hand like TJKx, 345x, maybe even turn like 678T into a bluff. So i would like that more.

BB: $89.25
Hero (BTN/SB): $54.45

River: ($22.50) 4 of clubs(2 players)

So this hand i am kind of proud of, but also kind of feel like i fancyplayed this. The thing is, when i was checking back, he really was donking quite wide there, so i wanted to prevent him from doing that. Also on this board the turn is really gonna give me an idea on how to proceed, on a blank i can raise and rep nothing, on a bad card i can just call down and be at the top of my range (which is also nice vers a thinking player). So this turn comes perfect, i raise, he calls.
Now what am i actually repping?
I guess i am repping some kind of naked flushdraw+pair, or maybe like 3456. i dont think i can ever have 22 here, so i dont have any valuecombos in my range (in his eyes, maybe, maybe its too fancy, as i said).
So the river now is a very good card as well, cause he only beats me with a hand like 57xx+flushdraw, and i dont think he has too many combos of that. Further than that, i am blocking most sets (and he would have 3bet the turn with them), so i am not usually beat here. And on top i dont rep any hand, so i kind of snapped his shove feeling a little strange and got shown a well played bluff by him.

Apart from those hands i was really running pretty well and sometimes didnt really know what to do, but this match really was the most fun PLO match i have ever played, and also helped me understand the game quite good (compared to me tilting away my money when i play a regular opponent).

Cheers.

Edit: Somewhere the WINNERRRRRS start, no idea where though :-)
