200NL: Great opportunities
So, i played a session again (I just have to play with the new Rake System and the Black Card and stuff), and while i played pretty decent overall and played some pretty good lines and made some fun raises and so on, i still am making way more mistakes playing 200nl than 100nl. Thats for two reasons i think:
1) Its more money
2) I get put into tougher spots
So, lets pick the worst hand of the session:
Full Tilt Poker $200.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 959450
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter
Hero (BTN): $212.80
SB: $355.05
BB: $206.00
UTG: $122.00
MP: $212.65
CO: $212.00
Pre Flop: ($3.00) Hero is BTN with 9
9
3 folds, Hero raises to $5, 1 fold, BB calls $3
Flop: ($11.00) 7
2
5
(2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $8.00, BB raises to $28, Hero calls $20
Turn: ($67.00) T
(2 players)
BB bets $38.00, Hero calls $38
River: ($143.00) 2
(2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $141.80
Final Pot: $143.00
So, preflop fine, flop fine, turn fine, river....
Erm, in case youre wondering, that was a valuebet on the river. So, i thought, well, i could have had 89, 68, 34, floats that picked up flushdraws, so he can herocall me with 88,7x,Ahigh here).
When i write it down like that it really doesnt sound too bad, but the problem is that with this line he doesnt have a 7 (at least i cant assume he does), he doesnt have 88 (same thing), he either has a T or nothing. So i shovel my money into his hands, or he makes the right fold. So, without a read that he raises that flop very thin for value, i cant make that vbet ever.
I actually think thats the single bad hand i played, but it stuck in my mind (as it looks so dumb if youre snapped off by Tx), and its the kind of hand thats gonna make me tilt and lose even more, so we wanna avoid that.Â
A good note: While i was in freefall-mode at one point, losing 6 BIs straight in about 5min, i did not tilt. I still made decisions based on ranges, and i really think i never played that well on 200nl. So hope it continues that way.Â
