40 Days of Poker!!! Blog each day
Well DC'ers, I am about to start a challenge i have laid upon myself to play 40 days of poker, with no non-poker days in between. Now I know some may say this isnt smart and its good to have breaks. However, I plan on exercising plenty and going out at least once a week with the girlfriend so I think I can manage. The reason behind this challenge is the fact that our cat is staying in a foster home right now due to my dad's allergies, so I need to run up a BR to be able to possibly get my own place again. We gave this friend a time frame of when we would take our cat back, because he isnt supposed to have pets in his building and is doing us a HUGE favor, so Im going to bust my ass and grind as much as possible. Quite frankly im also tired of playing 10nl due to lack of volume, because im an excellent player and ive beaten 50nl 6m for 9bb/100 over 50k+ hands, and the only way to do this is to grind. Once im at 50nl again, i know i can support myself with poker income. I feel like i have a very good control over my emotions and tilt and can continue to play even when running badly. I understand the concept of variance very well now, and hope that i have a little love from the poker gods during this challenge, because lets be honest, im going to need it to achieve the end goal of being a 50nl reg again after 40 days, starting from a bankroll of only $150!!!! I do have other outside sources of income, although they are minor. So im going to rely on the sales on my amazon and ebay accounts to support myself with spending money, and possibly add a little to my poker bankroll as well to give me a boost back up to 50nl. I currently also have 2 bonus's on the poker site im playing on that i need to grind out, so that is an extra $200 that will help boost the BR once those are cleared as well.
During this challenge I will be posting on this blog once a day, with a hand or 2 that I had trouble with, or found interesting, along with my stats and possibly sexy graph updates. I have a plan to also watch at least 2 video's per week and do HEM reviews on the regs at the current stake im at. The network Im playing on is small, so being able to beat the regs and exploit their leaks will only help add to my winrate. I will be using a pretty aggressive BRM, taking shots at the next limit when i reach 15-20 BI's, and will move down when i reach 10 BI's for the current limit im playing. So for example, I will take shots at 20nl when I reach $300-$400 bankroll, and move down to 4nl if my BR hits $100.
Wish me luck, and feel free to follow my blog!
