June is here/Updates

Wow it's already June first!  Can't believe the year is going by so quickly...  I've been extremely busy away from the table, I attended my brothers graduation two weekends ago for a few days at the University of Vermont, then headed from there to Florida with my girlfriend me meet one of my best friends and his gf down in Marco island for a 5 day trip.  It was really awesome and was great to take a break from poker for so long before I devote a ton of time to the game for the WSOP this summer.  Before I get to the WSOP ill just give a few details about the trip since it was so fun.

My buddy James's family had a house for us to stay at so the housing was taken care of price wise which you can't beat!  They also had a car down there already so we didn't have to worry about that as well.  Each day was very similar but in a good/relaxing way.   We would wake up around 10ish pack the cooler and beach things and head across the street to the ocean where we would settle into a day full of drinks, sun, and ocean water all day.  The sun took its toll on my body throughout the trip with my irish skin getting a savage sunburn but I more than made the most out of it there and ended up with as good a tan as i've had in years.  Each night we woulod head out eat at a seaside restaurant which weren't cheap but were beautiful and hard to replicate view wise on the east coast here.  We took a boat cruise one night which was like our own private yacht since only 8 others showed up for the dinner cruise.  We got to see some dolphins and some rediculous houses along the way while getting to enjoy a really nice sunset on the ocean which when you get the chance to see is just beautiful.  It was a great trip and a lot of fun to go on vacation with a good friend like that, and can't wait to do it again once we all save up again!

We got back in on Saturday night after a ton of trouble with the airport delaying our flghts throughout the day, but made it back to Boston in one piece around 10pm.  I got a much needed workout in on Sunday before all of the majors began which was much needed since my best physical workout in Florida consisted of me tossing the football around between all of the drinks and sun each day.  It felt great to get the workout in ( I never workout on weekends),  I usually will head out fri and sat night to have a bit to many drinks and have fun with my buddies who work all week and feel pretty withered come Sunday morning to drag myself to workout even though its like a quarter mile down the road.  I think it definitely can affect my mindset in a much more positive way instead of just cracking an energy drink open each Sunday where im comitting the most of my roll each week in hope of a big score.   I had to tone it down a little this Sunday since my results just haven't been there online basically in forever it seems.  There is so much variance in these things without proper volume sometimes its tough to see how long it can go on.  But without any scores over 15k in over a year online im disapointed definitely with how things have gone.  Positives though, i'm still unbacked and play cash and mid/high stakes MTTS consistantly.  I haven't had to push my roll to the point where I would look to be backed, Unbacked live and am going to vegas for the WSOP unbacked unlike last year.  No questions it is frustrating to watch many of my good friends be able to play whichever events they would like to online, but almost all are involved in some sort of makeup deal, which is great because many of them have hit scores that can suffice them for a long time :) I really trust how I play though, I know it surely isn't perfect but it has produced good results for me over my career and if I can hit a huge score online or live again then things will be in really good shape for my life.  I'm just trying to be patient and by next year I will be able to be as flexible as i'd like with tournament buyin choices and possibly stake a player or two.  Ramble over, theme is just win and win more.

Back to Sunday, I ended up heading over to my buddy JBT449s house which is the next town over to play this Sund.  I'll be staying with him in Vegas this summer from the 13th to the Main Event., which i'll win a seat for by this weekend, mark it down...  We'll be at the Rio since we couldn't get the house thing together with others for that.  I'm fine with it, staying in a hotel for that long isn't ideal but I did it last year for the LAPC.  I'll be able to play a lot more cash because of this, which is a definite + since going unbacked im going to be building on the side in cash games.  I'm going to be playing HU a lot more before I head out there because I feel like that is going to be the best way to stay sharp on each aspect of my game before heading out there.  As far as experience goes for some who don't know much about me, I got 4th in a 1500$ wsop last summer and was able to gain a lifetime of experience playing almost every NLH and a few fixed events last summer in vegas.  Being a year older at 24, I feel like i've been going out there for years to play these events because the amount of knowledge i gained last year with the volume I played in my month there.  The first event I'll be playing is the $2500 6 max when i get out there, and i'll be playing mostly 1ks, 1500s, venetian deep stacks, and lots of cash along the way.  Looking forward to this greatly, I will be selling pieces throughout the series so if anyone can help with a fourm to sell pieces at or where I can garner interest, I would appreciate it a lot if you could PM me or direct me to the fourm for this.

As far as today goes, heading to workout since im the slowest writer ever lol, heading back home to play online for the rest of the day splitting between cash games, MTTS, and satellites I can find for the Main.  Good luck to all and thanks to whomever took the time to read this long post :)  I'm the one on the right, GL everyone...
