Back in Boston
Last week at foxwoods could have gone a lot better overall, I ended up down on the trip between cash games and the 3 tournaments I played. Not off to my hot live poker start like last year :/ Saving if for VEGAS! Overall for the trip I was in CT for 7 nights, 5 staying at foxwoods, 2 nights at the Bellisimo a few miles down the street. I played live for 6 of those nights so def put in the volume needed but just didn’t warrent any results. I felt I played my B game overall, never really got a good flow going except for one night when I won a few BI in cash. Foxwoods really hasn’t treated me great in my multiple experiences there. It’s the closest casino to where I live, just under two hours away. I had my first cash in a tourny this trip at least, 13th in a 600$ mtt there but just couldnt get anything rolling for there and wasn’t able to play the 3.5k like I would have liked too. I was hoping to build and make enough for the NAPT 5k main event at Mohegan next week but that hasn’t followed through either. I have a little bit of time the rest of the week to put something together but i’m not going to stress over it because its not worth buying into unbacked for myself yet.
Heading to workout in a little bit to get back on track. The casino truly makes me the laziest person when it comes to physical activity lol. I pretty sure the place does it for everyone, so hopefully by Vegas I’ll be in a relatively strict routine that involves a daily workout because It can only set me up for a more stable mind and body while at the table putting in lots of hours. I’ve always found it very tough to balance working out daily and playing poker full time. I’m still in decent shape and play in a Men’s Hockey league once or twice a week but probably get 2 and mabey 3 workouts in on a really good week. When im at the casino its always a big 0. Also when I go out during the week and drink or stay out late with friends I tend to be on the lazy side the next day and love relaxing to let the body recharge. I can change that, I just need to take action and make sure I workout each day MON-FRI. Its easier said than done, but I need to step up and make it happen. I’ll keep you updated if I can progress with it this week.
Also the UEFA champions league tourn begins today at 2:30est which should be a great game between Manchester United and Bayern Munich. I never played soccer competitively, always Hockey and Lacrosse, Soccer is a very exciting sport to watch with the right leagues and teams on display. European soccer is as competitive and very emotional with the passion of the fans from each team when they lineup. It can be Physical, fast, talented, and a sport when played on the highest level almost looks like an art form. It sounds redic, but truly these guys do some amazing things and the fans show you just how important each goal can be with how they celebrate each key moment. When I travel to Europe that is one of the first things on my list to do is watch a game there. I have almost 0 interest in American soccer as the talent is extremely diluted compared to the players overseas. I will be rooting heavily for the US when the world Cup comes around though! I play a good amount of FIFA 010 and the game has made me a much bigger fan of the game as well haha. Ok, off to the gym before I sit down and watch this whole game. I’ll update later this week.
