Tomorrow is the big day… My first time out in Las Vegas and a big step toward reaching some goals in my poker career this summer. 2009 has been pretty good the more I think about before I head out west. I’ve progressed quite a bit to the point where I’m playing most of the highstakes MTT schedule when I have time to play, excluding the 200r, 1ks and some other random events. But all in all its a good step toward getting there. I’m not backed online and have worked a long time to get here on my own money which seems to be pretty rare these days among most MTT players. I also am a regular at the 2/4 6max and hu game which i’ve struggled with the variance and some sloppy play here and there but value the experience i’ve gained there. Along with my 3 biggest mtt scores all this year, i’m headed in the right direction, just need to win a tournament on FTP now but that doesn’t happen irl for me :p.

I’m heading into this summer with a good amount of experience starting in february when I spent almost three weeks at the LAPC and picking up my biggest score to date, a 3rd place finish in the 1k 1 rebuy. It was a great reminder about how meh variance can get, as I had cashed in only 1/11 events up till that out there and then wake up with that at the end of the trip. I was able to spend a little over a week playing in the foxwoods poker classic in march, where I played my first 5k and 10k event which is something you have to experience first hand to grow as a player. All in a few month span i’ve taken some big steps to where I want to be as a player and continue growing financially.

One big downfall of heading out to Vegas is that I have to spend a lot of time away from my beautiful and supportive girlfriend during this time. She’s someone that definitley keeps me motivated to be super successful and knows how to make me smile when things aren’t going well with poker or anything for that matter in my life. She’s the most positive thing in my day and I wouldn’t ask for it any other way. She’s the best, simple as that. Hey babe :) (yeah shes a fan of reading this!)

Back to the poker to wrap this up. I’ll be the 5th person getting into the house in vegas this summer, four others have already been out there for 2 weeks. My good friend JBT449 will be the last to arrive next week and the house will be complete. It would be amazing if everyone could get off to a great start out there, but thats not how poker always goes. I’ll do my best to keep everyone positive because this is truly a big/great opportunity for everyone out there regardless how we look at it. Its the World Series of Poker! I’ll be updating this at least 5 times a week out there for my own benifit to keep a solid routine going, especially out there. I’ll be talking about key hands in my day, what life in vegas is like, catching up on personal thoughts, and just trying to remember everyting about the experience this summer. I’ll probably wait till saturday or sunday to write a new blog and catch up, till then GL everyone.
