lol governments

After much work/hassle/frustration on my part, I'm happy to report I just shipped a 16% raise at my job!  Naturally, I immediately went to The Cheesecake Factory and ordered a slice of the Chocolate Tower Truffle Cake (Layers and Layers of Fudge Cake with Chocolate Truffle Cream and Chocolate Mousse) and a slice of Dulce de Leche Caramel Cheesecake (found here) for my gf.  Also picked up a jumbo size elk antler for my dog.  And then we all feasted like royalty.  Needless to say, it was glorious, just like my boy blue.

I'm also actually playing poker these days!  Like, for real!  I have a 15k hand prop bet going and I'm aiming for Iron Man as well.  I've got 5200 hands so far so I'm right on pace.  The month started our poorly (see last post), but I can already feel myself getting into a nice rhythm and playing well.  It feels good and I think I may have even hit an "a ha" moment.  Things are clicking really well and I couldn't be happier with my game right now.  I stopped trying to force things and I'm finally just letting the game come to me.

In addition to all that jazz, I'm doing group coaching and it's going pretty well.  I wasn't sure how it'd go since I've never done coaching in a group setting before, but I intentionally picked a good group of guys and I think that's key.  I really feel like I'm helping and I hope that continues.  They seem to be enjoying it as well.  At least, that's what they tell me.  They could have a secret Skype group where they just trash talk me and say how bad I am, but whatever.  Screw you guys.

So yea, things are going well.  Looking forward to my 3 day weekend coming up so I can get some solid volume in.  I'm splitting time probably 80/20 with NLHE/Triple Draw.  I tell ya.  I thought PLO had variance so I stayed away from that game.  Triple Draw variance can be a B though.  Regardless, it's really, really fun to play so I keep at it :)

Just had my monthly home game where we play a mixed game rotation.  This time there was LHE, Stud, O8, Triple Draw, Badugi, Razz, and even some good ol' 5 card draw (single draw and double draw...yea...we crazy like that).  I didn't play "my A game" because it's more about having fun than actual serious poker (for instance, raising KKKxx in TD hoping to hit quads/snow), but I still managed to run good in LHE and finish up a decent amount.

And finally, in a few weeks I should be the proud new owner of the latest and greatest Tecmo Super Bowl!  That's right, TSB2K11 with updated rosters and teams ON AN ACTUAL NES CARTRIDGE.

@DJ, if by "they" you mean some random dude in Canada can put Roms on old NES cartridges, then most certainly!

@aguar, you need to get that back!

Considering how much we trash talk you in the group chat you know about, I don't know why you'd think we'd bother with a second one. Screw you too! ;)
