From NL5 to NL100 - coaching a uNL-player.

OK, guys, I just saw that my blog (that I created like 20 years ago and never put up any post) got over 700 views so far - which probably means 700 disappointed readers due to no content. Sorry for that!

Obviously I felt the strong need to immediately start sth. useful on my blog. Inspired by the thread of velvia where he mentioned that the uNL-forums wouldn´t get enough qualified traffic, I decided to start a blog about a topic that most of the uNL-guys should be interested in:

HOW CAN I GET FROM NL5 TO NL100?

So let´s getting started!

Here´s the story:

My girlfriend and I started playing poker some years ago. We started with playing LHE for some while, she first switched to NLHE, I kept building my roll (my sweetie is a little impatient - lol). Eventually we both played mostly NLHE MTTs, merely successful. About two years ago I stopped playing MTTs (excluding some rare occasions) and started playing and studying cash game. My girl kept playing MTTs and tried some SnGs - but with no real success. Then she took some shots at cash (NL10) but failed miserably and crushed her entire roll. So, you can imagine poker was no fun anymore for quite some time.

In the meantime I worked my way from NL20 up to NL200 with some recent shots to NL400 (not made the final jump yet, but had some good success so far). Unfortunately I have to recover from two (almost consecutive) downswings for 70 and 50 buy-ins each on NL200 and keep playing NL100 now until I recovered my roll to get back to the arena (which will hopefully happen by end of april).

Now, my little one got motivated to take another shot and trusted me to give a trial to coach her (as you can imagine, it´s not the easiest thing of the world if you live together, lol).

So I put up a plan for her and she deposited a starting roll of $300. She´s starting with NL5 and our target (for my coaching - and this blog) is to reach at least $2k / NL50, ideally $4k / NL100.

So, stay tuned - and give me feedback what you´re specially interested in. :-)

=> Next blog entry will be an outline of the plan and the framework I worked out for her.

- Tack -

PS: Along with that I´ll naturally share some hands / updates on my own "career" as well. I´ll give each post a prefix ("NL5-100: "/ "TACK: ") and additionally tag them so you can separate them more easily.

Don't worry. I clicked your blog ~658 times so there's really only somewhere around 43 disappointed people.

GL w/ this idea, and I'm not referring to the cards. :)
