2012 - Back again

Hi there,

gosh, it has been a while since a actually visited this site. I took a very much needed break from poker which lasted more a less a year. During that year I played only 2.000 hands and enjoyed my life without actually thinking that much about the game.

I knew that I would be back at the tables at some stage, even after the Black Friday disaster although it was obvious that I needed a different game than holdem. Over the last couple of years I spent the vast majority of my poker days on holdem cash game tables, playing Limit and No Limit Holdem up to the midstakes. At some point I was sick of holdem and decided to take a short break to focus on a different game. The short break turned out to be a year long break in which I got married, worked hard on my career and started running. I lost around 25 pounds and looking forward to my first half-marathon this year.

In November I more or less decided to give poker another shot but from a complete different angle.
I started reading and watching all possible source for Omaha and played some hands which made me thinking about goals for 2012.

I am looking forward to work myself through the micro-stakes, improve my game without really focussing on the money perspective. Poker is a brilliant game but nothing more than a hobby for me. Taking it too serious in terms of "I need to win the money" hurts my game.

Therefore, I decided to define three different goals for 2012:

  1. Play 100k hands of Omaha
  2. Start at PLO10 and move up to PLO25 at least
  3. Write blogposts and post hands in the forums regularly

It feels good to be back for now, let´s see how it goes...

Cheers
