$3k Day / Yogi Makes a Comeback!
This past week I've been nursing my dog Yogi back to health. I woke up Sunday morning to see he had been throwing up quite a bit. Took a few trips to the vet (and >$500 in vet bills) and after x-rays and some other tests from two different vets the best they could come up with was he may have eaten something that was bothering him - but wasn't causing blockage - and there wasn't much to do about it but keep an eye on him. He even started losing a lot of his energy and wasn't able to do simple things like jump up on the couch anymore. Really had me worried.Yogi's been steadily getting better and as of today he seems to be back to his normal self; he's jumping around, eating dry food, drinking his water, dying to play and best of all hasn't thrown/spit up. I don't want to jinx it but it looks like my little trooper pulled through :)
I'm not a very emotional person, in fact most of my relationships in life aren't that great or end because of my lack of... whatever it is, emotion, connection, whatever you'd like to call it. But this little dog has a hold of me and as much as I love it I hate it. What a scare this little rat gave me.
Any way, on to the poker talks. I'm still feeling really good about my game. I did a little bit of coaching over the week since I wasn't really able to dedicate time to grinding, with Yogi being sick (I can easily cut a coaching session short and finish later). It was pretty cool, I took a little break from coaching over the past few weeks, and it felt great. I do actually enjoy talking about poker and watching my students get those "aha" moments. I also get a lot out of the coaching for myself and my game as well. I got to do a little bit of coaching for a pretty cool guy who is a video instructor at Galfond's site and I think he really enjoyed the session. Ah, before I forget to mention it, my coaching rates recently changed. I'm now offering coaching for $150/session.
Uh, let's see... what else. Well, I had a ~$2.5k day a few days ago which hadn't happened in a while and was lots of fun... but today was a little bit more fun :)Started off feeling like it was going to be a brutal day but somewhere along the way I hit beast-mode and started crushing everything. I actually got a $350 6max to go off on FTP that wasn't super reg infested (rare) and won it! I ended up roughly +$3k after all was said and done. This is one of my best turbo SnG Days in a looong time - possibly my best I can't really remember (brag: I did have a $12k day at super-turbos once, but those things are cursed)
Well, I guess that's enough bragging for one entry. I'm gonna go do... something.
Later!
