PokerCase League - giving PLO a try
WARNING this may just be a bad beat so feel free to ignore it.
I really haven't played or studied any PLO to speak of, I thought it'd be fun to try it out. I googled and read while we played and I didn't last very long. I'm blogging it so I can look back on it when I do learn more PLO and if anyone wants they can make comments. I know I need to work some posting and discussing hands into my poker learning, so figure I can start in the blog where I probably wont be annoying anyone.
Pre-flop I was double suited with an Ace and lots of straight possibilities. Was it a mistake to raise given my position wasn't good? Is a 2.5x raise too small in PLO? Seemed to work out when only the BB called.
Then I hit a set on a rainbow flop with my Ace kicker, I'm a little short (or was I?) so I figure I'm going with the hand. So when BB lead with a small bet I put in a min 3bet to try and build the pot. He min 4bet and I shove, I'm ahead so I feel good despite loosing the hand. I know the nuts can change at every street and I have no PLO software, was this correct?
