I'm not stupid...
….I’m lazy. At least I like to believe that’s true =)!
Now im at my fourth year of mathematical studies and about to start writing masters thesis on credit derivatives ( I haven’t yet decided what exactly I’ll be writing about so I’ll be happy to look into any suggestions). As I mentioned before I’m incredibly lasy and as a result my grades are far from perfect. Consequently I won’t be able to get to the exchange program between my university and one in Amsterdam becouse either you need good grades to receive scholarship or you need money for a living (10k euros minimum for a year). Unfortunatelly for now I have none. So my plan is to take a year off to make those money playing poker. Becouse I don’t want to go brain dead through that year I’m planning on attendig some of my classes, finish/write my thesis and obtain few certificates:
1) CAE or CPE ( I got FCE like 5 or 6 years ago so it’s time to move up ;) )
2) CFA
3) and hopfully after working my ass of I’ll be able to pass actuarial examination
The way I see it I am my biggest enemy, my lack of discipline in essence. And thats the first thing I’ll be working on.
To sum up I’ll need 10k e for a year trip to Amsterdam, and another 10k e would be nice so I’ll be able to finance some of my other hobbies ( snowboarding, rock climbing and kitesurfing)
conclusion:pursuit of happiness

UK or US or elsewhere actuarial stuff?
My OH is an actuarial tutor, good luck with that!
Probably not recommended if you aren't extremely committed as it's a bit of a lottery.

I'm from continental Europe... From one of those countries where playing poker is not 100% legal ;)
I know the exam is hard but the pay is rewarding so i think it's still worth trying, and I find those things quite interesting

Probably better organised exams on the continent. Indeed, if you pass, very well rewarded. Good luck!
