Degens going to degen

Played some live poker this weekend. Didn't do that great money wise, but games were good. Played at a bowling alley/bar. Not sure but I think the actual cardroom used to be an employee break room before they started to offer poker. Anyways, played a session on Saturday with a slightly inebriated fellow who sat down with one of those giant 24oz beer mugs, which was already half gone by the time he sat down. I'd also venture a guess that it wasn't his first.

Drunk plays predictably spewy, and has to be told what to do every time it's his turn. He never could remember how much the blind was. As anyone who has ever drank any liquid, especially large amounts of alcohol, knows, eventually you will need to use the restroom, which was true for drunk guy as well. Restroom is a private one person room which is literally about 3 feet behind and to the left of the one seat, where I am seated. Drunk guy goes to use the restroom and not only forgets to lock the door behind him, he doesn't even bother to close the door. So while I'm playing poker, I have drunk guy pissing less than 10 feet behind me. He did this twice.

Later on drunk guy orders a pizza for the whole table, which was cool of him, besides donking off a few hundred bucks to the rest of the table. Drunk busts his roll before the pizza is ready though and leaves for the bar area to "find him some pussy". Floorman tried to find him when the pizza was ready, but drunk guy was long gone.

Moving away from online poker

Due to the recent developments with the Everleaf network, I no longer feel safe keeping money on an online poker site. While I believe that Merge is safe, I'm not willing to risk my bankroll on this assumption. So I'll be withdrawing the majority of my roll. It's not worth it for me to potentially lose $800-$900 for a $5-$10/hr winrate, especially when there are live games in my area where I can win at $20-$25/hr or more, without the potential risk of the casino being shut down and me losing my bankroll. While I am optimistic about the future of online poker (in my uneducated opinion I believe we will have legalized/regulated online poker in the United States between 1 and 2 years), now is a bad time to have any money online.

Online poker support sucks balls

So now Everleaf is no longer accepting players from the United States. I try to withdraw my funds and I am unable. I email support asking how I can get my money and they reply back stating that U.S. players are no longer allowed to play on their site. I know this! That's why I'm trying to withdraw my money, and now I have about 1/4 of my bankroll in limbo.

January Results

January turned out pretty good for me. I was able to get good volume; about 45,000 hands. Ran a little below ev, but still crushed at 10nl. Played a couple of sessions of 20nl, which didn't go as well, but it's a small sample. Total amount won this month, including rakeback, is about $450.

Goals for February are to take more shots at 20/25nl, hopefully moving completely out of 10nl by the end of the month. Spring semester started at my college, and February is a shorter month, but I'd like to be able to maintain playing at least 40,000 hands of poker.
