Big losing session
Dropped about $3400 today at HU PLO. Wasn’t playing well in some parts of it, probably cost myself extra money in bad pay offs, bad bluffs, bad misreads etc. I think it’s the first time in ages I’ve tilted, though it wasn’t that bad still, but I was constantly fixed on getting even quickly, which you shouldn’t do as a poker player. Definitely should have stopped earlier but couldn’t, despite being a bit tired, hungry, thirsty and generally steamed. The opponents I was playing weren’t that bad either.
Anyway, it’s not the end of the world. This is what I signed up for I guess, and I’ve had so many winning days recently (I’m only down 800 this month after this) it’s about time I had a big losing one. I’ve spent the last couple months building up my own ego so much that this acts as a much needed reality check. I’m not invincible to downswings, variance or even tilt.
Nevermind. What I’m not going to do is jump back in and force out a win. I’m just going to take a couple days to cool off then come back, play my best and just see how it goes.

50c/$1, same as I've been playing for the last couple months.

This is a great attitude to have, as long as you learned something from the loss it's just an investment in your improvement and game development. keep at it, gl

Indeed. I've gone through a fair number of big downswings in my career, but I really feel that each time I come back stronger and a better poker player.
