For some reason I barely played the first week this month, which I can chalk up to a mixture of being lazy, busy, ill and a nit. Anyway, I’ve upped the play time slightly over the last few days and my heater certainly hasn’t stopped.

Yesterday’s sessions was quite fun, a 3 hour session ending with me up 19BI. This was mostly due to being 11BI above EV, but I’ll take whatever I can get. The good thing is my fears about not finding good games were unfounded; there are still plenty of crazy fish willing to play me. Though I still do need to clock a lot more hours this month. I’ve only played 4 proper days, resulting in 12 hours of play. Still, I’m about $2600 up so far.

Here’s something my friend discovered: PTR’s ranking of top winners at 100PLO this year. Seeing this was pretty sick, but not that shocking considering how well I’ve been running and how there are very few successful 100PLO HU players (while 6max regs can’t really achieve as high winrates.)

I’m now at the stage where I’m considering moving up and taking shots at 200PLO, but the only thing holding me back is the possible emotional concerns. I’ve had massive swings at 100, which I can just about handle. If you doubled them, I wouldn’t be so comfortable straight away. It’s just a relative thing: when you’re used to certain swings at the game, suddenly altering them can phase you a lot. Although, I have scoped out the higher stake tables and I’m finding players with terrible stats all the way up, so there’s certainly no concern in me beating the games.

Oh yeah, my DC subscription ran out recently and I’m debating whether to renew it or not. On one hand, most of the videos are pretty great and it’s not a lot of money, but I also don’t seem to find the time nor the motivation to sit down and watch videos anymore, not as much as I did when I was learning the game. It’s not really that I can’t learn anything new or I can’t gain anything at all, I just feel diminishing returns has set in now that I’ve seen a lot of videos already. Also, there isn’t much in terms of the only game I’m interested in right now (HU PLO) and although there is still new PLO material coming out, I don’t necessarily need to have a continuing subscription all the time (I can always come back to it later.)
