Tilt Costs Money

Tonight I figured out that tilt has cost me roughly $4-5K this year. I keep grinding it back and then some, but then I’ll have a bad session, have an emotional reaction and try to win it all back/chase my losses. Between just not adhering to a reasonable stop loss and playing in games I suck at I’ve dropped 40-50 mother****ing buy-ins.

I can think of at least 15 specific buy-ins I had no business getting it in with, total gambling/cocky-spewey syndrome. Then there were the 10 buy-ins at 100NL Rush Poker. I haven’t played NLHE in like a year, and I was never very good at it to begin with and yes my QQ and JJ didnt hold up to AK and my AK didn’t hit against 99 or TT, but that’s not the point.

So there’s 25BIs right there that should have and could have been completely avoided. The rest came from playing too long and without the right mindset. They could have been standard, coolers, bad beats or whatever; the point is I just shouldn’t have been playing at those times.

50 buyins! I’d be well on my way to moving up by now. That tilts me so hard! ;+]
