PLO Style

Even though that is what she said, I’m talking about keeping a blog. Sheesh, every time I want to write one I don’t have time. Then when I have time I end up doing something else.

Anyway, things are going well. I’m actually winning over my small sample of strictly PLO this month. Only have about 7K hands between $25 PLO/HA on FTP and PLO50 on Stars but I’m feeling really good even when I lose. I’m excited about being rolled for PLO100 from what I’ve heard and seen the games aren’t that much tougher but it’s double the money! I still have a lot to refine but moving up while learning is a good thing, imo.

The main thing I’m happy with so far is my ability to NOT play. That’s right, deciding not to play sometimes when I have free time has been one of my biggest hurdles. I only have the time after I put my daughter to sleep on week nights to play. Sometimes I’m just too tired to play my A game but since I started being serious about poker I’ve always just played no matter what if I had any free time. This has been huge leak and puts me in prime condition to tilt pretty hard. I’m happy to say I’ve been pretty good about this and it’s helped me feel better about my decision making over all and really zone in when I am playing.

Now, I just need to balance playing fresh and playing my A game with putting in more volume. That’s my current goal. To put in a ton more volume. I have a good opportunity in June to do this. My baby’s momma, yes I have a baby momma…anyway, she is taking my daughter on vacation for the entire month of June. So I’ll have a ton of time to play and study and hopefully crush. My June goal is to play 25K+ hands and try to reach Platinum star. I had gold star a large part of last year then lost it one month when I couldn’t play a lot, computer went down and I went nearly busto. Got back to silver then gold and now back at silver for last month and >halfway to gold now. I’m going to try for gold this month and if I hit it I’ll really try for platinum.
