The Sunny Side.
Okay. Here is my weekend in the good and the bad.
Good: Played about as many hands this weekend as I’ve played all month.
Bad: Dropped ~18 buy-ins in 3000 hands.
Good: Got most of the money in with the best hand a ton.
Bad: Couldn’t fold the 2nd best hand on the river, ever.
Good: Laid a solid meta-game foundation with a few taggro regs.
Bad: Right now they have a lot of my money.
Good: I have renewed confidence in my game despite the loss.
Bad: I lost a ton. Played bad and ran bad. 18 buy-ins down. 10 buy ins below ev. 8 buy-ins I basically gave away.
Good: I know I played bad and where I made mistakes. (there was a time not so long ago I wouldn’t have seen this). Now I can better address my shortfalls.
Bad: Destroyed an epic month to-date. Was up like 30 Buy-ins over approximately 3000 hands. yes, about 100bb/100.
Good: I’m still beating PLO100 for about 17bb/100. I’m thinking I can beat the level for about 10bb/100 over a large enough sample.
I know I had been running unbelievably hot in all-in situations, and that it couldn’t last. I’ve been on much worse and longer down swings. I’m playing better than I ever have, most of the time, and I’m confident I can beat the game.
I’m going to play 80,000 more hands of PLO100. My new goal is to do this by summer time, let’s say July 4. 80,000 hands by July 4. I know for some of you guys that is laughably easy, but considering I had only been playing like 200h/day this month I work full time, have a dauther a social life and I’m obsessed with MW2, it becomes hard to log the hands I need.
Played about 1500 hands today over 2 sessions. 2nd session was epic, like 1200 hands over 3hours. It was more of the same, lose-lose-lose…dropped like 7 more Buy-ins in some really sick beats and failed moves. I didn’t lose focus and didn’t give up hope. Battled back to a 1.5BI win. Feel like I’ve been through the ringer, but it feels good.
