It's about the mental game, "right thinking" as T Angelo would call it, quote a lot of what I saw when I skimmed it applies to other disciplines as well of course.
That's one of the reasons I love poker so much. It's not just a betting game with cards used to determine the outcome.
It requires discipline focus and empathy, and these are all skills that serve people well in more mainstream disciplines.
