1st Quater Review
Well this year has been rather up and down so far.
I took a shot at 10NL and missed. That made a bit of a mess of my quaterly totals, and put me at pretty much break even.
5NL is running at 2BB / 100 over 25k hands, so that’s not too bad.
Plenty of poor play in there though, if I can conrinue to lop off that C game I think that will stand me in good stead for another hit at 10NL.
I think I’m going to put another month in at 5NL, get up to 25 buy ins for 10NL and take another shot.
Meanwhile I am very grateful for the chance to work on the Mt Robusto initiative.
I have found it very rewarding watching the videos with the explicit prupose of taking copious notes and translating the key points into a suitable format for the tagging forms.
My platoon were given From the Ground Up, which is a pretty good series, and one I wanted to watch again anyway.
Well sitting down and doing the tagging forms I really concentrated on the content and I found that it settled into my mind so much easier than you would realise.
If you’re not involved in Mt Robusto – basically the aim is to pick out timestamps and attach a label for something that happens in the video.
So you watch the video, maybe it’s a session review or live play, and realise they have got into a discussion on 3 betting from the blinds, so you have to track back through the video and find the timestamp where they begin this discussion.
Doing this task means you are frequently going back over things they say, focusing on the situational nature of the lesson and picking up lots of additional information about the reasons why a play is appropriate.
I was assigned to 3 episodes of the series,
but I intend to do the same exercise for the the other 5 episodes and get the benefits of this new way of approaching video lessons.
Obviously the way to approach this learning resource is stuff that they go over in Haj School, but somehow it didn’t really click before Mt Robusto.
