I feel your pain rigged. It seems like the sit n gos on carbon and cake take so long to fill up then they take so long to play that you waste 3 hours just to get in six games. And the software does suck you cant see the bet amount or how people are still in the hand.

Whatever. The way I read your response was (In a nutshell) "I respect your opinion, but fuck your opinion." If you weren't just being a total dick then fine, I was wrong, but your earlier comments had made it pretty easy for me to jump to that conclusion. If you actually tried to be a bit lesspatronizing, then you probably won't elicit mean-spirited comments from people as often ;). The acronym was actually a carry-over from somewhere else, but believe it or not that's actually even less important than this conversation. I have no desire to talk to you furter, so have a nice day. @Rigged: What you should do is hire a little girl, like a freaky-looking young Dakota Fanning type, that your friend has never seen before to approach her out of nowhere, stare at her, and say "I know what you did." over and over. I'd laugh.

I totally agree with the whole. "It's my blog and I'll cry if I want to", but you said that you don't think you're against anything more than abortion. Does that mean you are against abortion more than kidnapping and murdering someone, or forcing underage kids into sex trade? The list goes on and on. In the end, this was not your child, and not your decision. This must have been a difficult decision for the 24 year old girl, especially being single. Who cares what you or anyone else thinks.

There's a lot of debate to be had about abortion but I just want to say that the topic isn't as black and white as you claim it is. There's more to abortion than always being cold blooded murder vs always being acceptable.

Agreed that it's fine to call her a murderer if that's what you believe it is. I also agree though that "I said all the right things - - - to give him/her up for adoption." threw me a little too. Shady situation, to be sure. I second CarbonCopy's opinion, single moms are usually pure crazy and should be avoided. I wouldn't blow the whistle or try to start something, but I would definitely take this as insight into her character and distance myself if I thought that it was that big a deal.

You can get surgery, but it usually doesn't work. It'll work for like a couple years, but you end up having sleep apnea again. My brother had the surgery a couple years ago and he went through pure hell for a couple months. There is no way I'd put myself through that.

You are right, I graduated high school and that's as far as I got. School isn't for me honestly. I can't sit in a classroom for hours and I don't work hard enough to do homework. Plus I don't want to be in debt 1,000s of dollars while I'm at school. I plan to get back into poker when I can become financially stable or if and when the online thing gets figured out.

Yeah I'm fine now. Just a huge nasty bruise on my left hand where they stuck the IV in. That's exactly what was wrong also, drank too much too quick on an empty stomach. Funny thing was that my blood alcohol level was only like .13 That's usually barely buzzed for me.

Ask yourself, "If I rammed my sports car into the back of a large 18 wheeler transport truck at a stop light, would you slow down or would you continue at the same speed through the Transport Truck. I hope you answer, "No, I think I would slow down, maybe even stop, right?" Yes, right. The building fell at the same speed as a Bowling ball dropped from the roof INTO THIN AIR. Niels Harrit, a professor of nano-chemistry at the University of Copenhagen, together with a team of International & U.S. physicists and engineers published a paper in the Open Chemical Physics Journal in 2009 that proves that nano-thermite was used to bring down the World Trade Center towers. In the U.S. only, unlike the rest of the world, this startling finding went unreported. The researchers finding in the dust from the World Trade Towers destruction found massive quantities of unreacted nano-thermite, which they tested. The researchers have enough of the unreacted nano-thermite left for other scientists to examine. Nano-thermite is a material that is not available to anyone except the U.S. military. It is in this disbelief of hard evidence that America is dissolving

I have spoken with MULTIPLE people about this, everyone talks & eventually yes, you would have found out & then bitched at me for hiding it from you. I did the mature thing & told you myself, out of respect for you. If you can't see that, then I am really sorry for you. My job takes me to places I really don't want to go, but I have no choice. It would be the same if she had come into our shop for service, should I deny her then too? Personal things cannot intermingle with a business, that's all there is to it. wow two big winning days man, way to go, are you going to move up or stick around at the $6's for awhile? Not sure if you read my blog, but I moved so had to cash out all my money apart from $200, I've managed to run it back up to $565 so far. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll get my old rent deposit back and will be able to re-deposit for the $11's.

Cool man, I know that rb is a big part of grinding sng's and that volume is certainly important. As someone who is stepping up my # of cash tables, I just got table ninja yesterday and am still tweaking/working with it, I think that it's important to make sure that you have a "learning" side to your game and a "grinding" side. That may be in SNG wiz, or just playing like 4 tables and really focusing, or working with a coach, or whatever! But make sure that you try to balance those two sides when you are running well and running poorly. It'll help your growth as a player and allow you to move up and crush. There are some epic Downfall vids. This one was the worst. J/k. Gl to the Seahawks. After last game they've got me watching them the rest of the playoffs. Cutting down is good man. I am 99% sure I am done with Full Tilt. I was playing the hu sng's and managed to drop like 20 in a row, just seems fishy to me. Even a bad player can win 1 out of 6 or 7 with the way the cards fall. I feel ya! I've been playing FTP lately and it seems like every time I run really bad I get an email from FTP with an offer for Deepstack University. Yesterday, I had a short session where my KK ran into AA...my QQ ran into KK....my 55 ran into 77. I tend to have around 25-30 marked hands after a full day of poker. Takes me maybe a half hour to review them.

You could try reducing the # of tables you're playing on when moving up but only play the $12 ones. That and you might feel a bit scared perhaps of the $12 ones, this has happened to me but I quickly got over it as I dropped some of my tables and focused more. I can't think of many other reasons, $6.5 and $12 don't play all that differently.

Brian. massive wd dude. Phase one, complete :) As human beings we always assume we will screw these kind of things up, but most of the time, we come away amazed at how well we do. I've got a suggestion, take it or leave it. Next time you're shopping, if its not busy, go back to her checkout, talk to her some more as you're gathering your food. Ask more questions, find out more about her, and try and find common ground. If you get 'vibes' from her at this stage you'll know if she is interested the second time round for sure compared to the first exchange. If this part is going great, say you have to go soon, and casually ask her if she's busy next weekend as you'd like to hang out, and then stand there and don't say a single word. Silence. Smile. Let her answer. Really important you dont blow it by speaking first and saying "up to you/it'll be great/whadya think?" The spotlight is on her briefly, and you asked a question, so let her tell u what she wants to do. If she says she'd 'like that' or 'shes not busy', smile to yourself, ask for a pen, scribble down yr cell phone number on a piece of paper and give her it, and say 'contact me if yr free I gotta run now, i'd be up for going to _____ with you sound good?", Then say bubye get going . Obviously if she says she's super busy until 2013 you get the message and get out of there. She may say, 'im busy this weekend but free during the week next week' then BINGO. Basically think to yourself what's the worst that can happen here? She says she has a boyf or doesn't want to hang with you? She says 'sorry not interested'? In the short term, yup disappointment. But man, the fact you've gone out there got to know her, and gone for the kill, massive kudos. I can't emphasise on how much guts you've shown so far. And if she blows you out, on to the next one imo, what is stopping you?

I went there two nights ago. I walked in and didn't see her. So I got my waffles and walked to the front and there she was. The was a dad and daughter in front of me in line. They couldn't find something so told them to wait till she completed my check out. She was in a hurry and her main focus as getting me done with asap so she could help the dad and daughter. So I decided it wasn't the right time. Also, I was scared as all hell and had no idea what to say. I think I would have chickened out anyways. I'm going to give it another try in a few days, when I run out of maple syrup and milk.

Delliks: I hate being on someone else's schedule. I don't like working for anyone. I like doing my own thing, sleeping in till when I want, staying up late and not have to worry about working on a day that I want to make plans. Man, I can totally relate to you on the anxiety problem. Mine isn't as bad, I've never puked or anything but I do often feel physically very very sick if I'm nervous. I thought I was unique :D.Doesn't happen to me if it's poker related somehow, I've probably just blocked that part out. What's going on in your life is the most interesting part of the blog imo :) Pleeeeeeeease read the Tibetan Book on Living and Dying. Will do wonders for your attachment/anxiety problems, content of the book aside it's even written in a very calming relaxing way. Hey Rigged, sounds like you're have a shitty month results wise. I wondered why do you play SNG's to turn a profit and not cash or MTT's. Do you think SNG's are easier to beat, I've been playing around with lot's of different games recently, still not 100% sure what to focus on. Sounds like you have quite a passion for live cash though.

I know it is easier said than done but try not to play when there is problems with your gf or ex and your in a emotional state. I am speaking from experience it can cost you alot of money that when you look back at it in a few weeks time you will be more on tilt for why you blew off so many bi during this period... Self exclude for a week from all your pokersites and go try sort yourself out!!.. I know its hard to hit that self exclude button but sometimes u just gotta do it!! Trust me it will save you money in that week and probably for the rest of the month!! Good Luck

It depends a lot about edge you have in the 40$ tourneys, I would say that $1000 would probably make more good for you to pad your online roll than to go for a "jackpot" in bigger and higher variance games.

I think that's one good step to not berate players any more. You can use the time chatting more effectively. Also it's probably better moneywise, you'll want fish to feel warm and comfortable while playing and you don't want to start spite calling feuds with regs that are just annoyed to your behaviour.

Read my blog if you have time. Basically you just need to work smarter and harder than everyone else. And the smarter part is the tricky bit. I'd move away from STT's to cash, so many resources and far more lucrative. Get a group of like minded people together (probably most important thing) and setup a forum and skype group, review hands together often, sweat each other often, very often (like every day). Watch videos, but don't just watch them and write a few notes. Play them first time round without sound, pausing before instructor makes every big decision and write down what you'd do and why, if it differs with them highlight it, go through the video again with sound and write where your thought process differ. You can't make mistakes at the table, like the difference between a 3BB/100 winner and breakeven can be like 3-4 more mistakes per hours. GL OP :)

My fiance and I were apart for 3 days before we sat down and had a serious talk about where we were at the time and where we were going. Short term worse players can do better than you, but you should know that you're doing better in the long run. Short term screws with your brain - a lot. Eightfold path of Poker Enlightment has one episode dedicated to reciprocality. This time you did not get the cards, but if you got the most out of the cards you got, you should be proud of yourself. In the long run there will be events when you will get the cards and if you can get the most out of them then, you'll win some events. I must say that it's great if you know you're the best among 70 players, if it doesn't make you blind to the things they do well.

Don't go down the energy drink path man, I lived off the stuff in my final stressful year at university, and it really stuffed my heart something chronic. I'd get crazy heart palpitations at random times, not good. And when it comes to berating bad plays, I think its controllable by thinking that they are your source of income. And if you REALLY need to say something, I usually just say "nice hand" and leave it at that. The decent players know you're being sarcastic, the totally oblivious people think you're complementing them on what they believe was a good play (reinforce the wrong thing). It seems that you may just need to do some more social things, join a sporting team, I dunno - Hating people you don't know isn't a good trait, im sure you'll find out with time that there are a lot of good people in the world :O Good luck!

If I'm a new reg on a level, I'll play anyone until I learn who are any good. Might look like inflating ego to an existing reg. It takes a while at a new level before you can start avoiding certain players. At lower levels you don't need to game select a lot, because there's plenty of fish / reg and even most of the regs are bad. I know that every reg does get your winrate down, but you should be +EV even with a few regs on the tables. I'm doing the same thing with paper. One reason for it would be that Full Tilt's user agreement does not allow sharkscope / top shark during gameplay.

Sorry to hear you're running so bad. It took me a long time to truly "learn" this, but taking time off is really really +EV during a downswing. Consider even taking a day or two where you're not doing anything poker related at all (i.e. no studying hand histories, reviewing ICM calcs, etc). Clearing your head fully then recommitting yourself can do wonders for your game. GL!

Rigged, I went through the same the past few weeks on Stars. Spots where I was losing came up so frequently that just broke my poker spirit. The study I was putting in helped with some of my game, and then there was times where I just spewed off buyins left and right due to impatience and anger over the state of the games. Running bad and playing bad sucks. Enjoy the days off and time with your girl; that's what helped me. This week I'm playing much better, with a clearer mindset. The psychological part is a grind for sure. Stay positive. Continue to work on your game. There are guys that would have quit poker altogether over much less and not even bothered to study the games. On the technical side, I've played tighter in spots that were pretty thin, like BvB. I forgot that ICM does not equal push/fold; it helps determine it; but a few more factors get put in with it to determine quality play. Hope it works out for you. Add me on skype and I'll work with you if you have any problems.

We bought it for $10 at a yard sale almost two years ago. I broke the remote on a bad poker night. The screen wasn't big but it was freaking huge and heavy. We got a new flat screen on Christmas. I would rather say that it is a HUGE leak to let your stack be so low that it can be cut in half by blinds. When you have 2 BBs left, you have no fold equity and it isn't that great move, but with 3-5BBs, people are still folding and it works. One of the worst things that can happen to you in a SNG would be losing fold equity when you can't fold yourself to money. When you analyze the equity loss you should not look desperation shove in a vacuum, but rather think ahead 1-2 hands. Oftentimes it's better to have some equity loss now than have a lot worse equity loss during the next hand. I have tried desperation shoving for a few thousand games now and it's not going away from my arsenal of moves.

SICK SICK SICK.. he's played tons and tons of games though it's all about volume. Hey Rigged I know exactly how you feel buddy, it's hard having to keep drop back down to $6.50's, it's happened to me a few times now too. Do you just play the 9 seaters? I found when dropping down mixing in a few 18man 27mans helped keep me sane. Also if you cash in a few of these you'll be back up to the $11's quicker. I 10 table, so id open 8 normal $6.50's and 2 18 or 27 seaters. Everytime I move up to the $11's I tell myself to prepare for the worse and it could only be a temporary thing, this way it doesnt hurt as much when I get knocked back down.

caperebii - I get up almost every day at 8am to take my fiance to school lol. I know, not exactly the ideal poker sleep schedule. corkye - I actually had a coaching session with bones a few months ago. I felt that it helped a lot at the time. hey rigged, just to let you know I have had 1 session of coaching in my life so far, (vandweller), and in the short space of time I spent talking to him, watching the vid he made for me etc, I learned a bunch and my results improved on stars and in my live game too. Remember that poker is about luck in the short run, but about skill in the long run. 360 tournaments is quite short time and a winner can have -11% ROI during such stretches. Often it's not about the tools. HEM is better for improving your game, but you can manage with PT3 (and it's better in some regards).

I think my skill level is a circle as well. When I concentrate on fixing a leak or leaks, I find out that I will reopen old leaks or see some new ones. I have thought a few times that now I'm good, but when I look my older hand histories, I seem to always see more mistakes there. Downswings are a mixed blessing. On the other hand, it's hard to get volume in, but it's very easy to study and develop your game. At least I have worked on my game more on downswings than upswings.

I'm not good at multitabling with different structures. I'm not quick enough. I have to take a little more time with the MTT cause my decisions aren't so automatic. I've had my deepest runs in online MTT's while I do something else while I play. I basically watch the table the whole time. I just have something to listen to and to glance at every once in awhile.

I believe it is worse to have context switches in your head between television and poker than to have multiple poker tournaments going on at the same time. I would say it's in my opinion pretty stupid to have only one tournament because you want to focus on it, but then start doing everything else around it. If one tournament is not enough to keep you focused, try having the least amount of tournaments open that keeps you focused on poker.

Well I looked up his stats and he has a 7.5% roi over 2000 games at the 12s. I can't get close to this roi and I don't make plays that are this bad. People just run well forever...it's sickening

wouldnt lose any sleep over that hand mate stupid call by him. reading the rest of ya blog i wouldnt lose heart mate keep on going move down if ya have to loads of pro's have bad runs. look at chris ferguson and his tiny bankroll challenge he had to move down in the stakes when he was on a big losing streak if you are losing focus move down and take a break.

man i kind of realised this in my own game recently too. Controlled aggression is so f'ing key and can pick up some wins if you take the aggy line rather than the passive line. GG sir :)

Hello, sorry to hear about the run bad. It sounds like you are getting a bit depressed with it and so maybe a change would help, drop back down or change sites or games, maybe. Unless it's your wedding, I would make sure you pay your rent debts 1st. Credit card debt can be restructured and isn't a priority debt. Losing where you live is way more important. If you are in the UK, there are a load of places to go to get help with rescheduling debt. Sorry if this sounds a bit interfering but I did debt counselling for a while and people tend to see debt as all one thing. It's important to distinguish between types and also best to get it sorted sooner than later. The fees tend to increased the amount owed exponentially if it's left to run up.
