Poker, casino, life, Grammys
Hey guys. Pretty much forgot to blog this weekend. Which I knew I would. Saturday I played three hours of poker. It went well. Went to the gym and rode the bike for an hour. Listened to a DC podcast for the first time while I was riding. It kept me entertained, for sure. That evening, I went to the casino with my mom. There was a ladies poker tourney that she played in. I played live while I waited for her. I played 3/6 limit holdem. Of, course my mom is always the best poker player in the ladies tourney, so she always lasts pretty much till the end. That means I have to survive limit holdem for about three hours. I was at this crazy table. All the crazy Mexican players that I have come to know over the years. So it was a fun game. Just not fun if you were losing. Which was me. I didn't play my normal tight self. I know there is just way too much value that I'm passing up with these crazy players. When most of the players are in preflop, I can see so many hands. So that's what I did. I compare it to Omaha, because you see a lot of hands and you better have a flush or straight on the river. If the board is paired, you have to be super careful because there is prolly a full house. I was in $300, $200 which was my own money. The game was just too good to quit after I lost my first $100. If I could win just one pot I'd be ahead in the game. Well I won about two big pots but still ended up about $170 in the red. If I woulda won just one of the pots that I flopped top two or top set, I would have been close to even, but failed at both. Although I lost, it was fun. It opened up my eyes to limit poker. I need to play looser. I'm going to start to watch the Dude, Where's My Mouse series by pygmyHero on limit poker. I watched just the first few minutes of a few episodes and it looks awesome. It seems like what I need. I can't wait to get good at limit poker and not know that I'm going to lose every time I play.
Sunday started off with me playing a 2.5 hour session of poker. I went to the gym after that. I watched the final episode of the series that I did with Skitz0. My new mic sounds so good. Wish I would have bought that four episodes ago. Yeah the video covered so many spots. I just love it. I planned to go play more poker, but I went over to my parents with my sister-in-law. I guess my brother is going to move in with me for awhile. I really don't want to get into the details, so I'm leaving it at that. It will be different living with someone. I haven't lived with someone since June. It should be fun. I really hope he brings his 360.
I came home and watched the rest of the Grammys. Yeah the performances were pretty good, but whats with the performers singing over a track of them singing? It's like the new lip singing. What they do is play the original track of the song and then the singer just raps/sings over it. You can barely hear the singer, but just enough so it's not like they are totally lip singing. Eminem used it the most. It was super tilting cause he is supposed to the bad ass. Katy Perry just can't sing live anymore, so she needs all the help she can get. Also, I like Lady Antebellum, but all those awards? I don't think so. No one deserves to sweep the Grammy's like that. Give some awards to other people that deserve them. One or maybe two awards a night is plenty.
