Apple Cup 2010

This weekend has been pretty awesome.  Friday I played one session of poker and then went out to eat with my parents.  Then we decided to go play poker at the casino.  Played for like five hours.  Didn't make anything, but had a fun boring time away from online poker.

When I was listening to the radio on Friday, they said there was about a 1000 more tickets for sale for the Apple Cup. (University of Washington v Washington State football game) That game is huge because both schools hate each other with a passion.  I needed to have someone to go with though.  My dad had a Christmas party that night so that pretty much left no one else.  I asked my new friend Christina if she wanted to go.  She said yes and I decided to buy tickets.  I was at the casino and my dad wouldn't let me use his iPhone, so I had to ask my sister-in-law, Savannah, to help me out.  She bought us tickets and we were good to go.

Christina lives in Tri-Cities which is about an hour and a half away from me, but on the way to Pullman where WSU is and where they are playing the Apple Cup.  So I picked her up and met her son and mom and then headed to Pullman.  It's another 2.5 hours hours from there.  Yeah WSU is notorious for being in the middle of no where.  Actually you reach the middle of no where and then drive 15 more minutes. We finally got to the game

It was about 25 degree's so we dressed as warm as possible.  There was a lot snow still left in the stands and most of it was ice chunks.  So the game got on its way. Cougars were behind all game and came back to tie it in the 4th quarter.  The place went completely bonkers. The fact that WSU was even in the game was a miracle.  Eventually UW answered with a touchdown and there wasn't enough time for the WSU to tie the game.

Anyways, it was a great time.  Great hanging out with my new friend for the first time. Fun watching the UW band get pummeled with blocks of ice and snow balls. I even thought the drive there and back was fun.  The company was extra great.

Today I went to my parents to watch the Seahawks game.  They fell 14-0 then came back in the second half to win 31-14. Sweet victory, even if it was against the 1-10 Panthers.

Back to the grind tomorrow. Talk to you guys then.
