What up!

Getting on the blog wagon again.  Sorry to ditch you guys.  I thought it would be easy to keep the blog going, but it's hard as hell.  Especially when I'm not playing well. I'll get you guys up to speed real quick.

August was an awful awful awful month.  I might as well have lit my bankroll on fire.  I proved to myself that I was not a good poker player.  I could not win at the $12 STTs.  I lost about everyday.  I got lazy.  Plus I studied with Wiz too much.  I was picking up spots that were profitable shoves in Wiz, but not in the real world.  I'm not sure how that works, but I could prove that Wiz is plain wrong in a few key spots.  Yeah yeah I have the ranges right and all the shit down below adjusted.  It seems that every time I get super in depth with Wiz, I go on a sick downswing.  Well I've learned that it is just me playing terrible.   I can credit Veloblank for getting me back into the real world and not pushing my shitty hands that Wiz would want me to shove.

Last week I went to Vegas.  I played a shit load of poker.  I played two Venetian noon tourneys and didn't do well.  I've never played a tournament with players that were half way decent.  I mean I played well, but I couldn't just sit back and wait for people to give me their chips.  I actually had to step my game up.  It was a fun experience for sure.

Live play kicked my ass.  I ran horrible and played too tight.  I actually played looser than I am used to, but it was still too tight.  The previous times I have been to Vegas, about every poker table was crazy and I could just wait for made hands and rake in the money.  Not so much anymore.  The crazy table that used to be everywhere is hard to find these days.  I played at the MGM, Bally's, Bellagio, and Aria.  MGM mainly because it's the closest decent poker room to where we were staying, The Excalibur.  Lost a few hundo there when my flopped two pair AQ ran into pocket Aces. I like Bally's cause it is usually full of tourists that aren't there to be the next Phil Ivey.  At least I didn't lose money there.  This was my first time playing poker at the Bellagio.  It was an awesome experience for sure.  Playing with my back against Bobby's room.  No one was in there of course.  Saw a couple notable players though.  I didn't lose much, so that was nice.  Now to Aria.  I put quite a few hours in there.  Room was great.  Chairs were the most comfortable ever.  I played at the craziest tables also.  Yet I couldn't win.  Playing with pure idiots.  I played 1-3NL.  Would buy in for 300 and it wouldn't last for more than a couple hours.  AA all in on flop.  Called by open ender.  QQ all in on flop.  Called by 74o with top pair.  Runner runner straight.  AQ on a AQJ board.  I'm all in.  He has JJ.  Lost almost a grand there.  I was the typical nit that only gets it in with the worst of it.  If I had the best of it they'd fold.  Nitty poker is not the winning way when the players have a clue.  Seeing a lot of flops and exploiting in as many spots as possible is the way to go.  I don't have the bankroll for that.  I will not go back to Vegas till I have a bankroll and have mastered this form of play.

Now I am grinding online like I have never done.  I'm playing 12 tables continuously.  Yeah I should play 16, but Full Tilt won't let me.  It's because I'm on a wireless connection I think.  Anyways, I'm playing at least 150 tournaments a day for five days a week.  Going to play at least 3000 tournaments this month.  I had to drop back down to the $6.50s. It's depressing, but it's nice to actually win for once.  I'm playing a lot better these days.  Thanks to several study sessions with Veloblank.  I've played four days so far and today was my first losing day and I only lost a few buy-ins.  I feel good about it and we'll see how it goes.

I'll update more about my life tomorrow.  It's super late and I'm typing in the dark.  Laterz
