Just playin with the regs
I basically played poker all day and nothing else worth noting happened. I guess I bought a lawn mower, but Sears had to order it and it won't be here till the 5th. That pretty much sucks. Anyways, I got a full days poker in and I feel pretty good about it. It was a chore picking through the billion regs at the $12s. Just insane. There were regulars loading up on each others 16 tables all day long. There was rarely a moment when there wasn't. So I had to table select most of the time. Which takes me way longer and is frustrating. If there was a table that had three winning regs at it, I jumped on it. That's how it went today. Grrr. Some days are just like that.
I said yesterday that I was running awful heads up and that it usually evens out and I get a spurt of firsts. Well that rang true today. I got a bunch of firsts. I'm not sure if I profited much because I had a couple horrible sets that were probably -8 buy-ins or worse. But I was getting lots of wins so I shouldn't have done to bad. Wins are good.Â
Let's see how I did today. I played 109 games and made 16 buy-ins. Very nice. Something that is contributing a lot to my success of late is not letting myself get blinded out. SNG Wiz can be a very dangerous tool if you don't know how to use it. I didn't used to know how to use it and probably still don't. There are a billion spots that are horrible according to ICM, but are must takes. As in UTG on the bubble and you have like 3-5bbs and are about to be blinded out.. You look up a lot of spots that you need to push on Wiz and they super negative EV.  You see that and instinctively you think, oh that's a bad spot, I need to fold. In reality you are going to be in spot that is 100 times worse than that the next hand.Â
So there is the tip of the day from me. I think I might start adding a tip to each blog. That was kinda fun.Â
