I'm a "tight reg fish"
I was called that today by someone better than me at poker. I used to be looser, but I was finding success playing tighter than I normally was earlier in the tourneys. So today I went back to my looser self. Well after the DC tourney lol.
Today I played in the DC tourney that has been planned for a few weeks. I think I was the 2nd person to register for this tourney like more than two weeks ago. I really didn’t think I as going to be able to play. First I thought I was going clam digging this weekend, but that fell through. Then last week I planned on playing a golf tourney, but no one signed up. So I was stuck playing the DC tourney. Not a bad alternative at all. I barely got back home in time from exchanging my wedding shirt… Sohoskiracer organized a group call on Skype. I never had done that before, but I didn’t wanta miss out on the the fun! My table was boring as hell and all the guys I knew were at another table. I opened up the other table and noticed that Vandweller was already out! Wtf lol. Soho had took him out in three minutes. Soho finally invited him into our chat and it was good times. It was funny hearing Van’s balls and porn stories. What a goof ball. Oh well at least it was entertaining while we played the long tournament. I played about the best as I could. I wanta say I was one of the worst players, but there were some pretty bad ones lol. I was prolly on the bottom half skill wise. I think there were like 32 players. I was put out on the final table bubble in 10th place. I was like on the bottom in chips, so I decided to push with QJo on the btn. I knew I’d get called light. I probably should have folded and waited for a better spot. I could have doubled through one of the more aggressive players at the tables lol.
Then I took Courtney to work and when I got back I played poker. I played six sets just about straight through. 72 games. I had a pretty good headache at the end, but I needed to get as much poker is as possible. I have been slacking off very badly the last few days. Hopefully I can get a lot of poker in this week. The spots I ran bad outnumbered the spots I ran good. SO I lost about…six or seven buy-ins. I could not place first in many tourneys. I was running super bad heads up. One of the very few that I won came from a guy that just completely disconnected lol. I’ll prolly look over a few spots in my HU game. Not 100% confident as I used to be. Also look at a few short handed spots as well. I gotta get back into the grove. The few days off has made me a tad rusty.
Well I’m off to pick Courtney up at work. It was good chatting with everyone today on Skype. We gotta do more of that stuff I’d say.
