I should just put dates as titles...

Started off the day with paying my electric bill. Barely had enough money, whew. Then I went and worked out for the first time since last Wednesday. Then I studied poker for a couple hours. Nothing unusual really.

I played a set at about 2pm. Didn’t go too well. Lost a little. Then brought Courtney where she needed to be and came back and played a couple more sets. While I was playing my second set of games I decided to play a $4.50 super turbo satellite to today’s MiniFTOPS. I won the satellite and played in the tournament. I decided to devote my attention to just that so I didn’t open any STTs. It was a $22 buy-in. It was boring, so I watched a couple HSP episodes while I played. There were about 11k players and I think I got like 180th or something like that. It paid $104 dollars so I was more than satisfied. $4.50 into $104, not bad for a poor guy like myself.

I played two more sets after my tournament and did ok the first one, but got completely fucked in my last one of the day. Bad beats everywhere, it was sickening. It always works like that. My nemesis was at a few of my tables and he, as usual, played terrible and ran like a god. I was heads up with him for the last hand of the night:

Full Tilt Poker $11 + $1 No Limit Hold’em Tournament – t300/t600 Blinds – 2 players
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

BTN/SB: t7650 M = 8.50
Hero (BB): t5850 M = 6.50

Pre Flop: (t900) Hero is BB with K Spade Q Diamond
BTN/SB requests TIME, BTN/SB raises to t7650 all in, Hero calls t5250 all in

Flop: (t11700) 6 Diamond 6 Club 3 Diamond

Turn: (t11700) T Club

River: (t11700) 5 Heart

Final Pot: t11700
BTN/SB shows 5 Spade 4 Spade (two pair, Sixes and Fives)
Hero shows K Spade Q Diamond (a pair of Sixes)
BTN/SB wins t11700

I made just a little money for the day which was good because I thought I ran pretty bad. Hopefully I can keep this poker schedule up. I need to play as much as possible. I would be so happy if I can actually cash a big check out soon.

I believe it is worse to have context switches in your head between television and poker than to have multiple poker tournaments going on at the same time. I would say it's in my opinion pretty stupid to have only one tournament because you want to focus on it, but then start doing everything else around it. If one tournament is not enough to keep you focused, try having the least amount of tournaments open that keeps you focused on poker.

I'm not good at multitabling with different structures. I'm not quick enough. I have to take a little more time with the MTT cause my decisions aren't so automatic.

I've had my deepest runs in online MTT's while I do something else while I play. I basically watch the table the whole time. I just have something to listen to and to glance at every once in awhile.
