Officially a DC Coach!
Hey peeps,
The announcement came out today in the R&D forum, I'm officially a DC coach. I'm quite glad to be part of the team and I'm planning on producing a video pretty soon. Want to sincerely thank everyone that has been involved in this process so far. I appreciate it a lot.
Poker's been going well this month although family visiting from abroad didn't allow me to put in as much volume as I wanted. The PLO games since Black Friday have been pretty good, although by no means were they bad games before. I think the 27TD games on PS have definitely been softer, I have been doing fairly well at 5/T and 10/20 since then. I'm getting some coaching from Schweig which I'm sure will be great.
Regarding PLO, I just want to mention a pretty basic but really important concept. If your opponent is willing to get it in with dominated draws on the flop, and a lot of people are, get as much money in the pot as you can with your dominating draws. This especially means a hand like nut wrap + pair on a rainbow board, or nut flush draw + pair. It's hard to find spots where you'll get it in with 60%+ equity on the flop in PLO, but these are it. Don't wait for the turn because you will lose action a lot, it's so much easier for your opponents to get it in on the flop with dominated draws than on the turn.
Here's a couple of hands I played recently that exemplify this concept.

Notice these are both single-raised pots with SPRs of 11 and 14. I still managed to get it in with 70% and 75% equity on the flop. Of course it helps to have opponents willing to stack off so light, however it's good to know that if I run into the bare flopped nuts I would've still had 40% (vs 99**) and 45% (vs 46**) equity. I know this is basic stuff, but I still see people not wanting to stack off on 10-15 SPR spots in similar situations. Don't be afraid to put money in. Also, of course, don't stack off with easily dominated hands with mid-high SPR.
Anyway, let me know if you want me to talk about a certain concept or topic during my upcoming video.
Thanks again, DC!

Congrats, sir. You've come a long way from when you were in my study group for the SSNLHE book back in the day.

I'm incredibly disappointed because you put 'tacos' in the tags. I was Googling tacos because I enjoy reading about them and it brought me to this page. Now I'm sucked in and want to know more about this PLO business. What a freaking scam.
