Goodbye August!

Hey Deuce Crackers,

So, as I'm not planning on playing the next 4 hours or so, August is officially over! As I said, month started out swingy while I was playing Rush PLO trying to clear a bonus. After the first week I had hit a low of -1,2k when I decided to switch back to my normal games. Ended up about +1,8k up in the cash games (3k swing), plus a +3,5k win in a PLO re-buy MTT. So I made like 5,3k this month, which means it's my best PLO month ever.

I will also be starting September at 200plo, which is where I've played my latest sessions. I've been running pretty well in the games and I've only been two tabling, which sucks if you want to get hands in, but is pretty good if you're looking to think about spots, get in-depth reads on your opponents, and just improve in general. I shall continue to do this and that's definitely what I'm trying to do. I also did play some more HU towards the end of the month, it went well except for a very short session versus Hypoxia where I lost a 40/60 and I ran into a rivered one-outer full house so my x/r bluff didn't work, ha. We're going to be playing more in the near future though, so I look forward to that.

Anyway here are some of the biggest hands I played this month:

PL Omaha $1(BB) Replayer

SB ($100)BB ($42.45)Hero ($393)UTG+1 ($241)CO ($93)BTN ($564)
Dealt to Hero Qof clubs Qof diamonds 9of hearts Aof clubs

Hero raises to $3.50, fold, CO calls $3.50, BTN calls $3.50, fold, fold

FLOP ($12) Qof hearts 7of diamonds 8of diamonds
Hero bets $9, CO folds, BTN calls $9

TURN ($30) Qof hearts 7of diamonds 8of diamonds 4of hearts
Hero bets $24, BTN raises to $88, Hero calls $64

RIVER ($206) Qof hearts 7of diamonds 8of diamonds 4of hearts 4of spades
Hero bets $206, BTN calls $206

Hero shows Qof clubs Qof diamonds 9of hearts Aof clubs (Pre 58%, Flop 72.7%, Turn 22.5%)
BTN shows 6of hearts Tof hearts 5of diamonds 7of spades (Pre 42%, Flop 27.3%, Turn 77.5%)
Hero wins $615

So on the river I think my bet-sizing was pretty good. I was obviously trying to get max value from what seems to be a straight, trying to make my pot bet look like a busted flush draw, missed combo diamond and higher straight draw which I could certainly have, or even a hand like Q89T with a flush draw that I'm turning into a bluff because of top settage blockers. Villain requested time, eventually called and cursed a lot.

PL Omaha $2(BB) Replayer
SB ($464)BB ($637)Hero ($277)CO ($162)BTN ($524)

Dealt to Hero Kof clubs Aof diamonds 9of spades 2of diamonds
Hero raises to $8, fold, BTN calls $8, SB calls $6, fold

FLOP ($26) 4of diamonds 8of diamonds 7of diamonds
SB checks, Hero bets $20, BTN folds, SB raises to $40, Hero calls $20

TURN ($106) 4of diamonds 8of diamonds 7of diamonds 6of clubs
SB checks, Hero bets $50, SB raises to $100, Hero calls $50

RIVER ($306) 4of diamonds 8of diamonds 7of diamonds 6of clubs 9of clubs
SB bets $306, Hero calls $129 (AI)

SB shows 6of diamonds Qof spades 6of hearts 5of diamonds(Pre 49%, Flop 100.0%, Turn 100.0%)
Hero shows Kof clubs Aof diamonds 9of spades 2of diamonds(Pre 51%, Flop 0.0%, Turn 0.0%)
SB wins $562

Still not good enough to fold the second nuts against the most maniac-like opponent at the table. However, given two min check-raises it does seem like a clear fold at some point, considering he is not good/bad enough to be bluffing with a one-card straight flush blocker. Oh well, lesson learned. Also probably too loose of a raise UTG/HJ, except I really wanted to play a pot versus the SB. That didn't seem to work out!

PL Omaha $2(BB) Replayer SB ($264)BB ($256)UTG ($108)CO ($127)Hero ($735)

Dealt to Hero Aof clubs Kof spades Qof spades Tof diamonds
UTG calls $2, CO calls $2, Hero raises to $12, SB calls $10, fold, UTG calls $10, fold

FLOP ($40) Tof hearts Qof hearts 4of clubs
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $40, SB raises to $160, UTG folds, Hero raises to $280, SB calls $92.75 (AI)

TURN ($545) Tof hearts Qof hearts 4of clubs 6of hearts

RIVER ($545) Tof hearts Qof hearts 4of clubs 6of hearts Tof clubs

Hero shows Aof clubs Kof spades Qof spades Tof diamonds(Pre 57%, Flop 58.0%, Turn 10.0%)
SB shows Aof hearts 9of spades 5of spades 4of hearts(Pre 43%, Flop 42.0%, Turn 90.0%)
Hero wins $542

Standard bet-get it in on flop. Never folding here against this guy, and probably doing well enough because of added gutshot, blockers to some wraps and if he's pushing the NFD with a pair his Ace isn't an out. Flatting is whatevs, he's got $96 left after raising sooo, bad turn, great river and stack over 1k for the first time playing PLO cash.

PL Omaha $2(BB) Replayer SB ($514)BB ($612)UTG ($580)Hero ($229)BTN ($322)

Dealt to Hero Jof hearts Kof hearts Jof clubs Qof diamonds
UTG raises to $8, Hero calls $8, BTN calls $8, fold, BB calls $6

FLOP ($34) Jof diamonds 6of hearts 3of clubs
BB checks, UTG bets $26, Hero calls $26, BTN raises to $138, BB folds, UTG folds, Hero raises to $221 (AI), BTN calls $83

TURN ($502)  Jof diamonds 6of hearts 3of clubs Tof diamonds

RIVER ($502) Jof diamonds 6of hearts 3of clubs Tof diamonds 7of diamonds

BTN shows 5of hearts Jof spades 3of spades 3of hearts(Pre 34%, Flop 8.8%, Turn 2.5%)
Hero shows Jof hearts Kof hearts Jof clubs Qof diamonds (Pre 66%, Flop 91.2%, Turn 97.5%)

Hero wins $499

The guy that lead plays pretty straightforward against me so raising the flop would not have been great. He can definitely read my hand like at least J6+ or a monster pair + wrap type of hand. There's also not much he could have and the two players behind me are loose and aggressive, like at about 71/21 and 89/50. Standard run good get it in with 91%.

PL Omaha $2(BB) Replayer

Hero ($248)BB ($384)

Dealt to Hero 5of hearts Tof diamonds Jof hearts 9of diamonds
raises to $6, Hero raises to $18, calls $12

FLOP ($36) Jof diamonds 7of diamonds 8of hearts
Hero bets $27, raises to $117, Hero raises to $230 (AI), calls $113

TURN ($496) Jof diamonds 7of diamonds 8of hearts 7of spades

RIVER ($496) Jof diamonds 7of diamonds 8of hearts 7of spades Aof diamonds

BB shows Jof spades Jof clubs Kof diamonds 4of clubs (Pre 60%, Flop 28.0%, Turn 97.5%)
Hero shows 5of hearts Tof diamonds Jof hearts 9of diamonds(Pre 40%, Flop 72.0%, Turn 2.5%)
BB wins $495

Tough HU match against this guy, he had stacked me before getting it in on the turn, I had Q782 on T926 board, he got it in with J78T and rivered an 8 for a higher straight. This hand, pretty standard, flop the nuts, go from 72% to 3% on turn and miss my one-outer. Oh wells.

PL Omaha $2(BB) Replayer SB ($62.10)Hero ($200)UTG ($54.80)CO ($291)BTN ($295)
Dealt to Hero 5of diamonds 7of clubs 6of diamonds 9of spades
UTG calls $2, fold, BTN raises to $4, SB calls $2, Hero calls $2, UTG calls $2

FLOP ($16) 3of spades Qof diamonds 4of hearts
SB bets $16, Hero raises to $60, UTG folds, BTN calls $60, SB calls $42.10 (AI)

TURN ($194) 3of spades Qof diamonds 4of hearts 9of hearts
Hero bets $136 (AI), BTN calls $136

RIVER ($466) 3of spades Qof diamonds 4of hearts 9of hearts 9of diamonds

BTN shows 5of clubs 3of diamonds 7of diamonds 6of hearts (Pre 18%, Flop 22.6%, Turn 13.9%)
SB shows Jof diamonds 6of clubs 4of diamonds 5of hearts (Pre 50%, Flop 55.4%, Turn 19.4%)
Hero shows 5of diamonds 7of clubs 6of diamonds 9of spades(Pre 32%, Flop 22.0%, Turn 66.7%)
Hero wins $463

I made a mistake by raising the flop, simply because I have 0 FE against the initial bettor and I have no pair. My equity should be OK but I'm not accomplishing much except getting people to fold out similar, but weaker draws. Another lesson learned. Fortunately the BTN just flats and we hit a 9 on the turn. I have less than a PSB left so the only move is to shove. BTN has the same wrap with a 3, and original bettor has an OESD with a 4. I have 67% on the turn and hold up. I wonder what the BTN would've done if I had just flatted the original bet with his specific hand.

I guess that's it. Lot of smaller pots which are probably much more interesting but less entertaining. I shall post some of those next month with some analysis. I'll leave you with the most entertaining hand I've seen this month, thanks to Mr. Clean for sharing!
Robl running it 4 times versus PA in a PLO hand.
