End Of Day Recap
The image above shows the summary for today’s poker session. As you can see I only put in a few hands but ran fairly well. There are really only two hands from the session that I will go over here. I found the $0.25/$0.50 game to be much softer than the $0.10/$0.20 game, I was getting check raised value bet very thinly and had to put my thinking cap on.

In this hand my opponent starts off pat and then breaks on the final draw. In some of DeathDonkey’s videos he points out that it is often a mistake to value bet after your opponent breaks. Is 8 perfect strong enough to value bet? I guess the reasoning is that your opponent would call with a worse 8 and re-raise any 7.
I also played 3 sit and go’s to convert some of my FPP’s to $T. I lost one game when my QQ was beaten by K8o and lost a flip in the second game JJ v AKs. I took down the final game for $T11. My opponent had a 3:1 chip lead going into HU but was very passive and that was that. So I got back about 5.2c per FPP.
I have a ticket for the APPT Sydney satellite tonight so I will be playing that. The prize structure shown below:
1st $9500 package
- 2nd -9th $215 step ticket
- 10th-27th $82 step ticket
- 28th-63rd $7.5 step ticket
So hopefully I run well, I might put in a few more TD hands but will add them to my tomorrows post.

First hand: Just calling predraw is best here with a 2 card draw. I don't think capping the first draw is that great because you probably won't get it HU after your opponent already cold calls. Also, isolating isn't that important as the 3bettor is probably already pat so you're looking to improve anyway. It probably isn't much of a mistake with the strength of your draw though, but for balance reasons, I do not like it. Second hand: I think everything is fine except not check/raising after the first draw. Your opponent is pat and auto-betting, you missed a couple extra bets here by leading out. River is a pretty standard vbet, your hand is way strong and you're not just value betting against the guy who broke, you're also doing it against the guy who stood pat behind you and didn't show any aggression as you have his range pretty crushed.

Looking back at the 23458 hand a value bet on the river was probably a must. I guess I may have wrongly assumed that if I bet in that spot I would only be called or raised with hands that beat me. I ignored the third player in the hand, as he only had a bit more then 1 bet left. Thanks again for your insight.
