Bringing in the New Year!
So here we go. I am getting ready to officially embark on my poker quest. I have made a couple of "resolutions" for the new year, and hopefully I will stick to them. The trick is going to be to not let my emotions get the best of me. That being said, I am going to try and get the new year started tonight.
Inspired by WiltOnTilt's NYE grindfest, I have decided to give it a shot as well...albeit at notably smaller stakes. I am going to "grind" 4 tables on FTP tonight at 10NL. In order to make my quest as profitable and good as possible, I have also decided to quit smoking...an issue that may cause some problems on the virtual felt. But I have my Nicorette and I am mustering up all of my willpower. Wish me luck. I will be posting later about how the session went, feelings, etc. So stay tuned if you are reading!

So that session wasn't as good as I had hoped for. I ended up stopping a bit before I wanted to because I thought I might throw my computer out the window. Needless to say, that wasn't a winning session. I played for a little less than 5 hours. I felt good throughout, well, until the end there. I noticed some of my biggest mistakes were: not recognized and heeding the Baluga Theory, trying to bluff a calling station, and I think I might be ignoring the odds too often. That is, I am either not calculating them correctly, or I just say screw it, and chase something stupid anyways.
I am sure there are others, and my coach and I will discuss them at a later date. For now...bring on the beer.
