Hey guys,

Since my last post I have taken a shot a shot at 50NL and I was +7 buyins there, but unfortunately I lost that. I have not been playing so good and I lost the motivation to study during that time and also some friends moved to town so I had to go out drinking with them. I haven’t been posting hands or reading hand posts in the forums which is bad. I’m sure you guys have felt this way, basically one day you feel great and feel like your understanding everything then all of a sudden you just feel confused about your game. Good news is once again I feel motivated and a lot more clear headed and I can’t wait to play some poker and study on days off. I started reading posts and basically any theory posts, hand posts, or psychology posts that I could find while at work (very boring job, all I do is browse DC and 2p2) and feel good again. It’s amazing how your mind changes about poker when you get lazy about studying.

So my plans for my next set of days off which is 7 days off is to only 2 table, post hands, pay more attention to why I am making certain moves, ect. Basically to study a lot more than I play. I will be playing 25NL again and taking a shot at 50NL again very soon. I acually have 46 buyins for 50NL right now so putting in volume is not a big deal, I have a roll for the limit that I’m trying to get to and I want to have more confidence and just take shots for now so learning is more important and will also make my shots more successful. I did stop making hero calls vs. donks which I was having a problem with and am sure I saved a bunch of money there..lol, unfortunately I replaced that leak with another one which is double barreling the wrong players, and the wrong turn cards. This is one leak I want to correct this time, but overall I need to learn how to think better and think about why I am doing certain things.

I think I can reach my goal which is beating 200NL within a year from now and making a minimium average of $3000 a month. Could anyone tell me if a good 200NL player that plays about 40,000 hands in a month averages more or less than this in a month because I’m not really sure.

I’m also thinking about buying Volume 1 of BalugaWhales book or Improvas book, I’m just not sure if I should wait another month or so when I have a better understanding of things or maybe if I want to reach my goal I should buy it right now to speed up the process.
