yeah that's true mate however i had seen other hands how he played and a bigger raise would've gotten him to fold and i knew he was playing the J after a very good read. Never put him on TQ as he would 4 bet me easily on the flop.
however your statement is all true but I wanted to keep him in the hand and paying me off, as i have seen other players do the same and he had paid off

Fish dont fold top pair. Raise bigger.
