frustrated
Ugh I'm really frustrated right now. I think I lost like 2.2k on the weekend. It's not really that that bothers me though. I just hate that every time I have a few bad sessions I feel like I lose a lot of confidence. I feel like I'm doing things wrong and need to change things in my game, cut down on tables etc etc. It all makes me hesitant about whether or not I'll be able to get SNE next year. It's really amazing to me when I look at people's epic comeback graphs from a single session, when they're down like 10+ buyins and get back to even. I feel like being able to do that is all about having the confidence to know you're not going to monkey tilt and be able to still play well. I feel like that is a skill I'm going to need if I want to profitably get SNE next year, but a tough skill to learn.Â
To give an example of how I lose confidence take this weekend. My first session on friday I was 24 tabling 1/2-3/6 and lost $1400, probably a standard losing session for midstakes, but something I'm not accustomed to. My 2nd session friday I decided to just 24 table 1/2 and broke even. My first session Saturday I played 100 PLO for a change of pace/considering learning the game and lost a buyin. My 2nd session saturday I just played 1/2nl and lost about a half a buyin. My 3rd session saturday I decided to try playing only 50bb tables at 1/2 because I know there are a few regs who play those only and seem to crush pretty variance free. And I ended up losing a bit over a buyin in that session as well. So today I didn't play much, but felt like I needed to cut down tables and focus more so I just played the 40-100bb 1/2 games 6-9 tabling and again lost 2 buyins.Â
So I dunno. Probably just need to take a break. Re-reading that last paragraph I kinda think I sound like someone who is constantly checking how much they're up/down on a session, but I'm not that way. I just check HEM at the end of each session. It's frustrating to me that losing even 1 buyin at the end of my session kind of tilts me. And it's not like I'm underolled, I'm actually pretty overrolled for 2/4. I don't know what it is, but it's something I'm definitely going to need to get over by the end of the year.
Here's a hand so this blog isn't all just me complaining:Â

I was considering overbet shoving the river, but I thought there was some chance he might find a fold with Kx since we're deep. I was really puking when he c/r'd me. He seemed at least marginally fishy, but hadn't done anything spewy or out of line yet. I just don't see someone c/ring a king here on the river especially 200bb deep. Not sure though.
If anyone has any suggests on what I should do to help my problem that I was talking about earlier please say so. And any comments on the hand also welcome.
GL all :)
