2/4 ain't eazy
Hola Amigos,
So I told myself once I had played 100k hands of 1/2 6max I'd give 2/4 a real shot. I hit 100k 1/2 6max hands today running just shy of 3ptbb (2.9 for those counting.) My first shot at playing all 2/4 games tonight went fairly poorly lost 1k in about 900 hands. Was mixing full ring with 6max because there were only 3-4 good 40-100bb 6max games going.Â
Had Nolan on my left on a few tables and he took a big dump on me with preflop 3bets. It really sucks when you've folded to the first couple 3bets and then you kind of feel like 4betting is so obvious/expected that you're just gonna 5bet jammed on. That's basically what was happening lol.

Cooler etc. but still no fun to run bad at higher stakes.
Trying to find an interesting hand that I won, but looking over my winning hands I didn't win a single pot over 30bb lol.

Villain's a nitty full ring reg. I'll admit this may be spew, but once that turn hits I think I have a pretty good spot to 3 barrel expecting him to fold everything but a flush by the river. He snapped my turn barrel which is either a good or bad sign. Normally I'd expect a turn snap call to be something that isn't calling a blank river like pair+nut flush draw, Qx etc. The problem is that this guy mass tables so he might be paying real close attention to this tables, hence the snap call and just didn't want to time out on other tables. I decided to overbet the river to ensure folds from Qx. Shrug, maybe I got lucky there.
I might just keep grinding 1/2 for awhile, not sure, it's tough for a standard losing session at 2/4 to lose you as much as a really good winning 1/2 session.

I just played my first session at 2/4. It was quite short as I was just feeling out the stake. I am not nearly as far along with my 1/2 experience so I'll definitely be staying there for a good while, but I agree that running bad at a higher stake BLOWS. That's what happened when I first started playing 1/2.
