The Part Where I Light a Fire Under my Ass

Hello readers, it's me Matthew and I'm starting a blog! I decided to make one because I'm pretty unhappy with how much of a bum I've been lately so I'm hoping creating a blog will keep me honest and motivated. It's mostly going to be about poker, but I'm sure I'll talk about random stuff going on in my life as well. Will also be a nice place to set monthly goals etc. 

So anyway, the last few months have been EXTREMELY mediocre pokerwise. I think I'm going to toss most of that up to jumping around games too much and not putting in enough volume. I've always had a bit of a problem with not settling into a specific game, but the past few months I've split my poker time between full ring, 6max, HU (all nl) and even some plo, showing pretty mediocre results in all of them. I think I've made the majority of my money in my poker career mass tabling 100-200nl full ring, but I feel like I get better at a much slower rate while mass tabling fr (which is to be expected I suppose.) I feel I have the potential right now to be making 100k/year, but I'm just not putting in the necessary volume/focusing enough. So for the foreseeable future I plan on focusing on 6max and not playing more than 9 tables. Two other things I wanna work on are just being extremely zen when it comes to all forms of variance and also really zoning in on how the other 200nl 6max regulars are thinking about poker and exploiting them.

One thing that has been pretty stressful this month is that my desktop kind of crapped out on me. But I took it to Best Buy a couple days ago to get fixed and am picking it up today so that should be nice :)

So goals for the rest of the month (only a couple days but whatever I'll make news ones for July)- Currently up about 3k with about 30k hands played which is what is it I guess

*all hands at 6max NL playing no more than 9 tables

*work on my subtle tilt

*focus on other regulars weaknesses/how they approach the game

*play 2, 2 hour session/day minimum
