The Danger Zone

Only ended up playing 3 days this week as I had a ton of other stuff to do but I did manage 5 hours/day on the days I actually did work so I'm not too worried and expect to pick up the pace from now on. Also I was running way too good in the NL so played some PLO to even the score. I'm feeling really happy about my game and have moved a lot more towards working things out myself rather than taking information from sources. That's one difficulty I feel like I've always had, relying too much on "learning from people" whether it be on videos, coaching, group reviews or whatever then applying it to my own game as opposed to understanding the underlying math behind a situation and executing the best play based on assumptions and reads. So now having more confidence to go with purely my own thinking I feel like I'm making more and more interesting plays that at first seem kind of weird/bad but make perfect sense when you walk through it. Obviously you can take this path way too far though and use it as an excuse to become a spewmonkey so I've been diligent in my post session reviews.

I've been really getting into How To Make It In America lately, definitely at the top of my trash TV list now that Gossip Girl has gone way downhill. Gina Gershon is super smoking in it and plays an awesome character, was pretty shocked when I found out she's 49.
