September Goals

Let's see here are my goals

Post a winning month in PLO so I can move from 10 PLO to 25 PLO in October

Play over 8,000 hands of PLO this month.  I only have a couple of hours a day to play so this is going to be hard.

Move from Silver to Gold Star on Poker Stars.

Review 2 whole PLO series on DC.  I learn more the second time I see these videos.  I think it is due to a better understanding of the game I have now.

I will post updates as the month goes so to myself good luck.of spadesof heartsof clubsof diamonds

What Do you think

In my past couple of post I have talked about how my hold'em game has improved by playing PLO.  Well I just notice this epically this weekend.  After taking so bad beats and playing bad at PLO trying to get my money back I played some hold'em.  I have not had a losing session.  The aggression and hand reading you pick up from PLO lets you not be scared when someone makes a big bet and it teaches you that laying down top pair is sometimes is the right thing to do.  And when someone shoves on a queen high board and you have jacks they do not always have AQ.

The only problem that I have is still laying down aces.  I find that hand the hardest to get away from.  I could not fold it even when there was a one liner to a ten.  I guess I should just smarten up and realize that not all players epically in the micros will not bluff on that board.

So what to you think of PLO helping anybodies hold'em game.

What a day

Played some horrible PLO getting in good and donks catching the few outs they needed on the river but that is PLO.  Think I am going to take a break from PLO till next week and start playing some more NL starting a group with some players so trying to get hands in at 5NL and 10NL to get some hands in and to talk about them.  Even though I find NL boring at some times it is interesting the spots you can get into.  Just look at this hand I posted in the forms.   It is under Micro NL (I could not get the link to work).

I think it is kind of interesting but post and let me know what you think.  I almost say a call shove would be good but I think the shove here was the only way to get him to lay the hand down.

Nice Day Off

I had the day off work today.  Played some PLO and did something I hate played a tourney.  While I was playing in this tourney I realize why I hate them they take so damn long.  Played for over two ours and came in fourth and won eight bucks.  Not bad for a $1.40 investment and not to mention I made over two bucks in bounties.  And I realized something playing in this thing in a well structure tournament you can be aggressive on the flop on the turn and people will just fold to you and if they don't you still have plenty of chips.

This came to full front after the first break I lost two thirds of my stack with JJ to KK and when me and that person got to the final table my aggression rebuilt my stack bigger then hers.  A couple of times at the final table I got my stack down to about 10 big blinds and with four people at left had double my the chips with the next person, and then blasted them off against people just trying to knock people out because I had to go.  Maybe next time I will take my time and actually try to win.

The PLO went bad today the only time I did good was when I called someone who checked raised me and my naked jacks took down the pot.  Other then that I was about even on the day.

Post Six

Had my first chat with a fellow DC member about PLO. It went well we reviewed a hand and he pointed out mistakes that I made especially what Vanessa always says don’t be lazy and just mash the pot button. I lost sight of pot control in the hand and and the river just got to complicated to play when the opponent made a pot size bet and I could not call with the fifth nutz but I think I was beat any way. Due to a player having a VPIP of 22 and just letting me build the pot. But one some only to night anyways. See you next post.

Post Five what a week

This week I started off by by losing on FTP. Then started playing .05/.10 50BB max on Stars and realized that this game is easy. You lose a buy and you get it back so quick. I don’t know why it is are more beginners playing these tables. I had a player call me down with a single pair and no other draw and I turned the nut flush and betted it all the way.

I also started playing on UB again and got hot two except for today. I am down about a buy in and half at .5/.10 PLO but will not take long to get it back. The players all think they are good and go on tilt when you beat them when they are only 60/40 favorite. I did hit a one outer on the river against one dude that liked donking off money but that is omaha.

I am starting a PLO micro stakes group got two players that are interested and if you want to get in just send me a PM.

Post 4 Change of Plan

I was trying to play a lot more on FTP but I found out the levels I was full of call down and shove with any cards donks, and the suck outs I couldn’t handle any more. So I am concentrating on Stars and UB now. Stars I like playing omaha to build my roll to play in the 2+2 and Ante Up Magazine tournaments. UB I just got my rake back payment and it was pretty good considering I rarely played on the site. And the site is pretty soft at the limit I am playing at. I mean I flopped a straight flush and I called the flop and the turn and lead on the river and the guy still raised with the nut flush. I guess the guy could not think picture me having the one hand that could be him. And they also seem to fold to the flush card bluff. I guess that play is not popular on UB yet. Needless to say I am up pretty good money on UB right now.

I love the Stars new buy in structure due to the fact you can play a higher limit with a lower buy in this allows you to get money quickly because people play there draws aggressively and get there money in quicker then when they are deep stacked. This has been good for me and it allows me to get more chips quicker because it seems even when I lose my stack I am able to rebuild it and at the end of the session still leave up or even. The only time I have lost money since the new update was when I tried to play two tables of Omaha and Holdem. I learned quick that you can not play Holdem like unless you are willing to lose a lot of chips. So see you at the tables.

Here just how my night end tonight down 25 dollars of my starting bank roll of 48. Please tell me if I played any of these wrong. By the way all three were to a player playing over 80 percent of his hands.

This hand was just the straw the camel’s back. I know the call on the turn some of you would call a float but look at the equity

This was just the worst cold deck I ever got at one table by one guy I guess taking a shot at the higher stakes was not worth it.

I know this sounds like a lot of complaining but have you ever seen this many bad beats put on one player by same same player. I mean I got my money in all the hands as an 80 percent favorite (except hand two but the guy would not let me get it in on the flop). So tonight was one of those nights what can you say that is OMAHA.
